Tribute to 'Hero' Mom Captures the Tender Moments Before She Starts Grueling Trauma Nurse Shift

Bobby Wesson shared the most intimate picture of his beautiful wife, Raena, napping sweetly with their baby before a grueling shift as a trauma nurse. She's a hero who does does amazing things every day, he explained, and still has the time, energy, and spirit to be an amazing mother.

The post has gone viral, probably in no small part because of the beautiful picture of a mother and her baby napping, but also because of the loving and powerful way Bobby captured one of those moments as a parent that fills your heart to bursting.

Here's his post -- you should read it for yourself. It's pretty amazing.

But the post has gone crazy viral and racked up incredible "share" and "like" numbers because it's so relatable. We all know women like Raena who do incredible things and ask for nothing more than the occasional moment to love and care for their children.

There are hero moms everywhere you look who deserve our admiration, and I like to think of every "like" and "share" of the sweet picture of Raena and her baby as a nod to them, too.

The mom who is tired, in her suit at 6:30 on a Tuesday night walking the grocery store aisles with glazed spreadsheet eyes and a cart full of babies -- she's a hero too.

The moms who seem to always have a warm hug and a spot at the table for all the neighborhood kids who could use a family dinner -- heroes.

The moms who teach and heal and fight in wars and slog every day and still manage to devote what seems like their entire selves to their children, even though we know there's so much more they've got to juggle -- they're all heroes worthy of our respect.

How do they do it? Well, here's a little motherhood secret not everyone knows about. There's something about babies that makes just about every mother do things we might have never even dreamed we could do -- or would want to do. Like epidurals and breast pumps and functioning for months on end without sleep. Or reading the same story 500 times. Or learning One Direction and packing our kids' socks to go to college.

Motherhood: It's like a superpower, just a whole lot less glamorous than a see-through Wonder Woman airplane.

And so, inspired by Bobby and Raena, let's all take a little extra time to thank and support the hero moms in our midst every day. Because it's their love and devotion that makes life beautiful. All they want in return is the occasional nap with their babies. That's not so much to ask, right?
