Dying 6-Year-Old Wants Nothing More Than Holiday Cards for Her Last Christmas

addie fausettIt's time to add another address to your holiday card mailing list during this season of giving. Six-year-old Addie Fausett suffers from diffuse atrophy, which causes her brain to shrink and fill with fluid, and has been given a year to live. So to make her last holiday season special, and to make memories for the whole family, the Fausetts are asking for people to send Addie Christmas cards.

So far, the family has received hundreds of cards. The PO box they've set up in her name has been overflowing with Hallmark cards, personal letters, and pictures.

And Addie is taking them all in, especially the handmade ones.

Tami, Addie's mom, first noticed that her daughter's development had slowed when she was just 3 years old. She had stopped growing, speaking, and was unable to hold a crayon. But while doctors were able to define her condition, they have yet to diagnose the cause of it.

The little girl has never weighed more than 25 pounds and has recently gone through a major loss. Her father, who was separated from Tami, died just this past weekend.

So while the family is going through this hard time, Children and the Earth, Inc. is collecting donations and cards for the family.

And you can contribute too. Send any letter to:

Addie Lynn and Sisters, P.O. Box 162, Fountain Green, UT 84632

And donate here at the Children and the Earth, Inc.

Will you be sending a card to Addie?
