Kids Grow Up Right Before Our Eyes (PHOTOS)

by Ciaran Blumenfeld
Each image that Ciaran Blumenfeld shares in today's photo series touches on two universal themes that moms witness daily: growth and change -- and how it happens right before our eyes. From the milestones of her youngest child to the pensive portait of her tween daughter and everything "in between," these windows into motherhood strike a chord and remind us how fleeting the moments of childhood really are.

"Changes" in Ciaran's words:

"One thing is constant about childhood. Change. Change happens in the blink of an eye. I find myself taking a lot of pictures of my kids when they hover at an "in-between" moment, right at the brink of change. On a bridge, in a tunnel, on a path. Hovering between babyhood and childhood, childhood and teenager-dom. Change can be scary. I'm so glad that they have each other's hands to hold."
