5 Places You Can Work Out With Kids

workout with kidsIf your resolution for the new year is to finally lose that baby weight (you might as well call it "toddler weight" now), you may be searching for a way to incorporate your children into that goal. You can certainly lift them, like this guy. Or you could join a gym, or find some classes where kiddos are welcome. I know, I know, it's really nice just to nap in your spare time -- or when your toddler is napping -- but we should all probably be doing Pilates.

No matter where you live, chances are there's a gym in the area that has totally gotten with the program and offers free or low-cost child-care while you work out. Here are some gyms to check out that will take care of your toddler while you take care of your waddle.



My local Y has a fantastic child care facility. It's so fantastic that my kids think they're getting to go to a playground instead of being locked up while I hit the treadmill. Win/win. Check out your local Y as they tend to be some of the most family-friendly gyms in town.

Scattered all over the U.S.A., this gym that offers 24-hour workout times as well as 24-hour child care in their kid's club. So when your kiddo has that 4 a.m. wake-up call, you can just head to the gym and work out your frustration regarding your sleep-deprivation.

If you live in New York City, you can get your fancy workout on doing intenSati (an amazing aerobic, dance, strength conditioning, yoga, and martial arts combo) with on-site child care.


Perhaps you've been intimidated by the sleek design of your local Equinox, or the Kiehl's products in the locker room. But don't be afraid to bring in the kiddos, as most Equinox locations offer child care for children 3 months to 9 years old.

LA Fitness

Is not just in LA. In fact, I've seen more outside of Los Angeles than I've seen within the borders. Lucky you, they also have a Kid's Klub for on-site babysitting as you get bikini ready. Or Bermuda short ready. Either/or.
