10 Bad Boy Rockers We'd Leave Our Kids With

daughtryPat Monahan just shattered my dreams a bit. The Train front man has been blogging over at People magazine about being a rock star dad. And he had to throw out there that being on the road makes him miss his kids.

There goes that childhood fantasy of having a rock star daddy who comes home from his tours to sprinkle his kids with presents. Sigh. The reality is a lot more boring. Dad goes to work. Kids miss Dad. Lather, rinse, and repeat.

But Monahan just revealed the hidden benefit to watching rockers who miss their kids:

Having children around me just feels right. This is why I usually choose kids to come onstage and be “trainettes” at Train shows. They’re so much fun and they’re really sincere -- I love sincerity most in life.

Here are nine more rock stars we'd be willing to bet would be kind to our kids:

Chris Daughtry: Doubly blessed with newborn twins Noah and Adalynn this month, the American Idol is having a hard time keeping up that hard-edged act. He was caught calling them precious gifts from God. Awww!

Pete Wentz: He's papa to 2-year-old Bronx Mowgli with wife Ashlee Simpson, and the singer and bassist for Fallout Boy credits his son with adding stability to his life.

Bret Michaels: Even when the Poison rocker is on the road, he reports he calls his daughters, Raine and Jorja, as much as three to four times a day.

Rod Stewart: He'll be a father of eight this spring, and the details of wife Penny Lancaster's IVF journey show this aging rocker (he's in his 60s) is pretty committed to the whole deal. Perhaps it will keep him "Forever Young"?

Joel Madden: The Good Charlotte singer calls daughter Harlow his true love (although he seems to like Nicole Richie too).

Gavin Rossdale: He's known as a hands-on dad to Kingston and Zuma. He ardently believes it's his job to correct and shape them and help wife Gwen Stefani (well, except on diaper duty).

Ne-Yo: The R&B star is a new father to Madilyn Grace, and he says it's like falling in love for the first time. Now imagine him trying to leave her so he can perform.

Jon Bon Jovi: He's in the Songwriters Hall of Fame, but the Bon Jovi front man says he'd be nothing without his wife and four kids. They've helped him tame suicidal thoughts and keep running the Bon Jovi empire.

Tim McGraw: The country superstar and actor has brought daughter Maggie on-stage to sing with him, and he's known for getting other kids up there too.

Who is your favorite rock star dad?
