Memorial Day weekend. It's the official kick-off to summer. Barbecues. Aviators. Festive drinks you found on Pinterest. Prepare to see all these things in the upcoming days. But also, prepare to see sales. Big sales. Sales you don't want to miss.

No, MDW typically isn't associated with whiling away the hours in an overly-air conditioned mall, quelling your hunger with a Wetzel's Pretzel. But if you have an hour or so to spare, you may want to hit up a few of these stores -- they're slashing prices "everything must go"-style. And hey, you may just find the perfect dress and sandals for your barbecue.

Here are 10 awesome Memorial Day sales.

Ugh. Bras. We can't live without 'em, but to say finding one that fits well, lifts and separates the way it's supposed to, and makes us look amazing in our clothes seems like an impossible feat, to say the least.

But as it turns out, a lot of us are making bra shopping way more difficult than it has to be. (Everything is our fault. Face it.)

Last week, I had the pleasure of chatting with Jené Luciani, style expert and author of The Bra Book -- and she gave me some easy tips for how to find the perfect bras -- and how to care for them properly so we remain happy with them.

OMG, you guys -- so many of us are making major bra mistakes. (I definitely am.)

Clothing stores, let Target be your cautionary whale: do NOT, under any circumstances, name the plus-side version of one of your dresses after a large underwater mammal. That's exactly the unfortunate circumstance Target found themselves in when a sharp-eyed shopper happened to notice that the retailer offered a standard size dress style in "Dark Heather Gray" while the plus-size version was labeled as "Manatee Gray."

    Yeah. Awkward.

It sounds like this was a legitimate mistake on Target's part, and if you ask me, the company did a hell of a job heading off what could have been a public relations disaster.

Just when you think you've seen it all, my friends, along comes ...

    EYELASH JEWELRY.

This Etsy seller is making quite a splash in the world of, erm, eyelashes, because WILL YOU JUST LOOK AT HER? How does she close her eyes? How can she see? Can you drive in those things? Do they hurt? So. Many. Questions.

And so many eyelash options, too! Check them out after the jump, then tell us in the comments: Would YOU wear eyelash jewelry?

Today on my personal blog, I wrote about a catalog that scares the heck out of me:

    Soft Surroundings.

You can read what I had to say about it over there, but it got me thinking about catalogs in general -- which ones I love and which ones I hate.

I share my best and worst if you share yours!

Check my picks out after the jump and add your own best and worst list in the comments!

$31 for this Boden dress? OH YES!Yes, it's a little depressing that the holidays are coming to an end.

But now is the perfect time to GET YOUR SALE ON.

I spent this morning buying deeply discounted winter clothes for my kids (one size up, of course, so they'll be good for next year, too) at J.Crew, The Children's Place, and Hanna Andersson. With all the extra discounts, I averaged about $10 per item and got some seriously stylish kids' clothes!

After that, I stopped by Michaels, where most of the Christmas decorations were 80 percent off. I got a cartload of Christmas items (everything that I couldn't afford a month ago!) for under $50.

And the good news is you can get in on the sales too, all without leaving your home. Check out some of my favorite sales going on right now after the jump -- and tell me in the comments if you've scored any after-holiday deals!

The post-Christmas sales are upon us, and it's the second most wonderful time of the year. Now that the gift giving's all over, it's time to treat yourself. Since it's hard to find something full price the week before New Year's, take advantage of the deals and justify some massive purchases. It's what baby Jesus in a manger would want.

It looks like I was totally and completely wrong about the Starbucks Metal Card. The $450 stainless-steel gift card, sold on luxury flash-sale site Gilt, sold out right away. I figured people would be reasonable, rational creatures and look at the ridiculous gift card and think "that sh*t cray." But nope, people bought that Starbucks Metal Card as fast as they could.

Megan Buerger, a reporter for the Washington Post, tweeted right after the sale launched. "Less than 5 seconds and the @starbucks metal card is reserved on @Gilt. WTF." Not only did the extravagant gift cards sell out in seconds, they're now being hawked on eBay for thousands of dollars. Cash money. American dollars. What the heck is going on here?

My 7-year-old is drawn to infomercial products like a fly to the Bug Zapper Racket ... like a dog to Bark Off ... like a senior citizen to the EZ Eyes Keyboard ... like a mom to those Meaningful Beauty products Cindy Crawford will practically bring to your door. In fact, my little princess is convinced the holidays will be a total disaster without a Big Top Cupcake.

I'm not gonna lie, I've been smitten with some of those infomercial inventions myself. I own a couple of Snuggies, for instance -- everyone in the commercials looks so comfy on their couches while reading books and not feeling fettered by the constraints of a blanket. I've bought P90X, and Moon Sand, and Blendy Pens, and even Pillow Pets (before they sold them everywhere from Walmart to Shell stations).

In fact, some of them are positively irresistible and I want to buy them as gifts. Here are a few I find both ridiculous and at the same time inexplicably appealing:
