Stop the madness! The current issue of Self magazine purports to have Gwyneth Paltrow on its cover, but to me it looks more like a wax museum statue of the actress/singer/Goopy expert. Will we ever stop getting these crazily airbrushed versions of already beautiful people? EVER?

I just hate, hate, hate the message that the Self cover (and so many covers like it) sends. Paltrow is a gorgeous woman (however annoying you may find the Goopster, you have to admit she’s purty) who is in incredible shape. And they STILL have to Photoshop her almost beyond recognition. What does that say for the rest of us? 

Well, at least Jennifer Love Hewitt knows what her true assets are! Giving an interview about her work playing a prostitute on The Client List, the boobalicious actress said she’d be up for getting her va-va-voom breasts insured. 

"If somebody was like, 'Hey, you know what? We would like to insure your boobs for $2.5 million,' I'd be like, 'Do it. Love it! Why not?'" she said. Then she pointed at her boobs and declared, "These things right here are worth $5 million!"

If you are like me and always shudder at photos of yourself taken close-up, you can take heart. A new study from Cal-Tech proves that photographing a subject up close makes them appear uglier and less trustworthy. Holy hell. It explains so much!

Apparently, the close range warps the features and makes the person appear more sinister. Photographs taken from four feet away or more appear much more attractive regardless of how attractive that subject really is. Wow. Crazy.

But it explains so much. I did a little experiment on my own and looked through some photographs of me to see how I felt about them. Sure enough, the ones that were taken at long range, even if it was a close up on my face with the lens, came out better. See the example below:

Maybe Kim Kardashian's relationship with Kanye West is a good thing, after all. If we just ignore their fetish for dressing alike, it seems that Kim's been influenced by Kanye's style opinions, for the better. We heard that the rapper wanted the reality star to channel Kate Middleton and dress down more, wear less makeup, and let her natural beauty show, and this latest pic of Kim shows that she's heeding his advice. The 31-year-old bombshell tweeted a snapshot of herself in a bikini, without Photoshop.

Well, it's only been a day or so since Jessica Simpson introduced her baby girl, Maxwell, to the world on the cover of People magazine, and already questions are being raised about her image and whether or not it's been retouched or photoshopped.

And I guess I really shouldn't be all that shocked that some are doubting the cover's authenticity, because plenty of celebrities have had more than a little airbrushing help when it comes to looking picture perfect in magazine photos. (God forbid they should pose for a cover in their natural state.)
