And yes, I realize that it's not really your fault but rather all the Pinterest users who feel the need to pin ridiculous crap.

Dang that girl looked HOT last night. Leaving aside all references to her dubious choice of a date (sigh), let us simply pay homage to the gloriousness that was Rihanna at the Grammys. Her custom Azzedine Alaia gown was a true show-stopping stunner. Nice work if you can get it, but most of us don’t have the kind of money it takes to wear a custom couture dress ... nor a red carpet event to wear it to. The good news: We can all rock Rihanna’s gorgeous, vibrant orange-red lipstick and nail polish -- and we should!

This Thanksgiving, if you want to escape from all your random relatives asking you about your life, if you want to run from the room when your mother-in-law shoots you a look that says, "are you really going to fill up on those cheese and crackers?", and if you want to flee from the family mayhem once Uncle Richard arrives, then here's the perfect excuse: Thanksgiving nail art. If you're a reality star, it has become a mandate that you must a) sell your soul to the devil, and b) create a nail polish collection. Snooki is on her second phase of the deal, and last night on HSN, the Jersey Shore star launched her very own line of nail polishes. Snooki was also on air to hawk some slippers, sunglasses, perfume, and crocodillies, but those aren't nearly as exciting as the nail colors called "I'm a Gold Mind", "Fireball", and "Party's Here." 

So, hey. Let's take a look at Snooki's polishes versus the Kardashian polishes and crown ourselves a reality star nail color winner, shall we? Whee!

Breaking news, everybody. Are you sitting? Teen Mom Jenelle Evans got her nails did. The 20-year-old mom of Jace, 3, took time out of her busy day to indulge in a little manicure. But not just any manicure, you guys, she had some serious nail art done and walked out of the salon with Halloween-themed phalanges complete with skulls and skeletons. Kewlness.

There's no debate: Both Ann Romney and First Lady Michelle Obama looked fabulous Tuesday night in Hempstead, rocking their absolutely stunning Schiaparelli pink outfits. I have been dreaming of that hue ever since. But that's not the only thing to love about this brilliant fashion moment. There were some gorgeous details both ladies incorporated into their looks that deserve shout-outs.

For instance, FLOTUS rocked classy pearls, and Ann Romney paired her pink with hints of ocean blues -- specifically a translucent, turquoise bead necklace (very pretty with the pink!) and wait for it -- a pale lavender-blue manicure! Definitely kind of a '90s throwback reminiscent of those Hard Candy polishes we all had circa Clueless. And much like the blue grey manicure worn by Michelle Obama for her speech at the Democratic National Convention.

I draw the line when it comes to nail art with the president's face on it. Katy Perry performed at Obama's 30 Days to Victory party along with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, and Jon Bon Jovi and decided to wear her candidate of choice on her cuticles. There's Obama's face, there's some red, white, and blue stripes, there's the Democratic donkey, there's Obama's face again, and there's some stars. Hmm. Wonder who Katy's voting for?

Call me a goddamn traditionalist, but I think politics and nail art should not be mixed. Glitter, stripes, swirls, rhinestones, neon ... all that is good, solid fun, but when you add in a political agenda, it hurts the mani/pedi gods.

Even if the mention of the media-loving Kardashian clan makes you roll your eyes, you have to admit one thing: they aren't afraid to take beauty and fashion risks.

The latest? No, it's nothing spikey and sky-high or booty hugging this time. Kourtney Kardashian tweeted a photo of her red tip manicure and it says a lot about the busy mom's style.
