In the past year, I have slowly weaned myself off wearing bras. The bras of the underwire variety mostly. They are torture. Torture I'm not willing to put myself through any longer. So I stopped wearing them, along with the padded push-ups. Went cold turkey. And that was sort of exactly the problem. Cold. Nipples. No bra. HELLO! So the no bra thing for me wasn't the best option when I wasn't wearing at least a couple of layers of clothing to hide the fact that my nipples start a conversation before I do.

So I searched for the perfect anti-bra kind of bra and found it.

Mom-to-be Kim Kardashian was spotted looking at some ultra-pretty lingerie the other day while out shopping (in spiked heels of course!) with a friend. Now, this is a woman who is used to looking gorgeous and sexy, but I still say: Good for her!

Going though a pregnancy can really do a number on your mind, no? And since this is Kim’s first baby, every day is a new experience for her. All those changes happening to her body, and in the public eye, no less. Sure, she chooses to live her entire life in the public eye, but this is whole new experience, I’m sure. Because yes, pregnancy is a miracle -- it’s incredible, and beautiful, and life-affirming ... but from my own experience I can say it’s also alarming!

I have never been able to relate to those women who consider bra-wearing optional. It's just not a reality for women rocking a C-cup or above. I'll admit, there are moments when I envy those free-boobers who can work out without a sports bra or slip into a tiny tee without the fear of looking obscene, but it's just not my reality. And I am okay with that. But this also means I have to stay stocked with good bras. Sounds simple, but it's not. It's harder to find a bra that covers, lifts, and looks pretty than the perfect pair of jeans. Can you relate?

Allana Maiden's mom is a brave breast cancer survivor who is 21 years cancer-free. And while Allana is inspired by her mom's "strength and hope," she's also upset for her, because she says, "It doesn't seem fair that shopping for bras is such a discouraging, time consuming and frustrating ordeal." Such is the case not just for Allana's mom but for many breast cancer survivors and previvors who have undergone mastectomy surgery.

Seriously, you would think that by the year 2013 we would have so many beautiful bras -- and bathing suits -- for these women to choose from. But pickings are painfully slim. And that's why Allana created a petition on Change.org, asking Victoria's Secret to "show they care by helping breast cancer survivors feel beautiful with "Survivor" bras." Simply amazing! And wanna hear something even more amazing?

Fifty Shades of Grey fans, now you have even more to look forward to! Whenever the cast is official (as in not just a total guess on our parts) and announced by Universal, Victoria's Secret plans to make their own exciting debut ... They'll be releasing Fifty Shades of Grey-themed lingerie. Hot!

CelebrityDirtyLaundry.com reported fashion insiders' take on the risque line: "Victoria's Secret took a courageous leap. Women all over the world will now be able to cover their bosoms and bottoms with fifty shades of grey. Literally!” And when they say women, they really supposedly do mean all of us. As in, you won't have to have Miranda Kerr's Victoria's Secret Angel body to rock this line ...

A couple of weeks ago, I was faced with the dreaded task of finding the perfect strapless bra to go with the bridesmaid dress I was wearing for my best friend's wedding.

Being a small-chested (yet proud) A-cup gal, shopping for bras is no easy feat. Actually, I hate bra shopping. And that's probably why I hadn't done it in at least two years or so, until right before New Year's Eve.

This time, I had no choice, so I ventured into the lingerie store and started combing through the racks myself to find a suitable, extra-padded size 36-A bra that would potentially add a cup size or two and make my "girls" look a little less minuscule as compared to all the other bridesmaids.

Not much about life is certain, but there's one thing you can always count on --

    Celebrity crotch shots.

By now, you've all heard about Anne Hathaway's unfortunate wardrobe malfunction and her elegant response to Matt Lauer's leering, ogrish questions about the incident.

Every time I see a picture in a magazine of a lingerie model looking all sultry and voluptuous in a beautiful bra, I tend to glance down at my own measly little A-cup chest and shrug my shoulders -- because I realize no matter how hard I try, I'll never be able to pull off the sex kitten thing.

Because in order to really rock a bra and have an undeniable "oomph" factor going on, you kind of need to have some "oomph" under your shirt as a prerequisite.

That's right ladies -- the bra industry is totally geared for gals with substantial ta-tas, and that's why I pretty much shudder at the thought of going bra shopping anymore.

It's a waste of time. It's a pain in the rear end. And most of all, seeing all of those pretty bras on the store racks that I can only dream of wearing is nothing but a huge tease.

Pretty bras are a luxury. They're not the kind of thing that you just run out and pick up every few months like you would a t-shirt or a pair of socks. And if you do, I'm venturing to guess that, unless you're Victoria Beckham, they're from Target or Walmart or somewhere else super un-sexy. So when you finally buy a bra -- hell, be it once a year -- you want it to last. You want it stay fresh and lacy and un-crapped up (and white if that's the color!). But how do you do that?

    Funny you should ask ...

Plenty of women, and moms in particular, have been inspired to spice things up in the bedroom after reading Fifty Shades of Grey. And a big part of making things steamier is stocking up on a few sexy pieces of lingerie to set the perfect mood and "get things rolling" before the lights go out.

But buying racy lingerie can be a bit intimidating for moms, not to mention really embarrassing, because most of the more risque stuff is sold in adult stores, or stores that have a bit of a tacky and raunchy vibe associated with them. And that's why the idea of Victoria's Secret launching a Fifty Shades of Grey-inspired line should make us all extremely happy. (Yes! They really might be doing one!)
