So the beauty confession of last week was that Sarah Jessica Parker's high heel habit has deformed her feet. However! That news does not deter me from my love of gorgeous shoes, even though they are often painful and might one day cause me to grow extra bones in weird places as Parker says happened to her (ouch!).

So now that spring is springing, I’m looking lustfully at all the pretty, impractical footwear out there that's almost but not quite as impractical as the world's most uncomfortable shoes. After all, it's just about time to burn my winter boots in a bonfire. And here's my own little confession -- don't judge me! -- I'm TOTALLY into TOMS cute new wedges.

Here are 7 pairs of spring and summer heels that I’m ogling, because even though most of my warm-weather moments will be spent in flip-flops, it’s good to have something sexy for those occasions where you don't have to actually walk!

It's here. It's finally here. The Bachelor finale is tonight, and I, like millions of fellow Americans with nothing better to do than watch pretty people pretend to be in love for the sake of ABC, am very much looking forward to our last nine-hour episode tonight. Who will Sean Lowe pick? Will it be cool girl Catherine Giudici or plucky Missourian Lindsay Yenter? Or will Chris Harrison announce he's transitioning into a woman and that he and Sean are running away together?

All that remains to be seen, but there are, in fact, some spoilers. Photos of the girls' finale dresses have been posted online, so let's take a sneak peek at their sartorial selections and judge, judge, judge a roo.

Gwyneth Paltrow looks good in pretty much anything -- but even she makes the occasional style faux-pas. Witness her saying she should have worn a bra with her see-through goth gown that she wore to the Oscars a decade ago. I'm really not sure how anyone let her out of the house in that. But you have to hand it to Gwynnie, two kids later and she's still working out like a fiend and eating like a bird, which has allowed her to fit uber-snugly into these skin tight leather pants.

Every year around the Oscars, I happen to catch a segment on some fashion show telling me what the newest trend is, based on this year's hit movies. I recall the first of these segments aired a couple years back during a pre-Oscar lineup. I was informed that with the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, I would start to see a lot of people in new blockbuster-inspired fashions.

What I loved most was when they mentioned that "even moms could get in on the trend." Really? Even frumpy ol' moms could get in on the crappy trend some PR person thought up to help put tushes in seats? Wow, we moms are lucky. Here are a couple of those fashions touted to us that I find truly ridiculous:

One of the main things on my to-do list next week is something I absolutely dread, but it's something that HAS to be done. I'm talking about cleaning out my closet in an effort to free up some space for the new spring and summer clothes I'll likely be purchasing.

And if I want to make room for the new stuff, then I have to weed out some of the old pieces, which is something I struggle with every single year. Confession: I refuse to let go of my "skinny" clothes -- because I desperately cling to the idea of actually getting my ass in gear and being able to wear them again one day.

I know, I know -- everyone has a few outfits from last season that don't fit because we're still carrying excess winter weight. But in addition to those types of clothes -- I still have stuff that I wore a good 10 years ago. (And the pants in the photo are from 2011. Those babies don't fit right now either.)

Something happened in the last few months and it spiraled out of control. It was my clothes. They were getting frumpier by the day. Layers and layers and layers of looseness. It became very clear when I was experimenting wearing dresses for a week that my choices were drowning me. It's been cold and the clothes kept me warm and cozy, but I didn't need to look like a human laundry pile. I needed to suck it up (perhaps literally) and out on some figure-flattering clothes. Challenge accepted!

It wasn't as easy as I thought because it's not like I could just put on skin-tight clothes and strut around. Well, I could, but no one want to see that except my husband, and that's a whole different story. This challenge was about wearing things that were a little more fitted, and not so many layers, layers, layers. Could I do it? For a whole week? Would the looks work into my future clothing rotation?
