It was with great amusement that I read Rihanna's latest River Island clothing line was designed with her own "fat days" in mind. Hahahahahahaha! Only she (at a size 6) would consider a collection that includes hot pants and fishnets "fat day" wear. (Oh to be 20-something with a body like hers!) But it did get me thinking about how universal that feeling is. No matter what size you are, or what kind of shape you're in, some days you feel pretty and slim and others ... not so much.

You know what "fat days" are, I'm sure ... those days when you feel extra frumpy and unlovely and bloated, whether it's because it's that special time of the month, or you've missed the gym (like say for the last four months), or you just overdid it all weekend. Lately, I've been feeling that way more days than not. But there are ways to pull yourself out of a fat-day slump. Here are my tricks and tips.

When did being a woman become so expensive? Even the basic beauty routine can put a hurting on the pocketbook these days, and if you've got an addiction to something like nail polish (guiltily raises her hands), you might as well just tell the accounting department to divert a chunk of your paycheck to the local beauty store.

Unless, that is, you are a devotee of the beauty hack? I'm talking about the little tricks that help you cut corners -- and costs!

Be careful, all of you love birds that are thinking about doing something a little extra special down there for your soul mate this Valentine’s Day -- statistics show that pubic hair grooming injuries are on the rise. An estimated 2,500 people a year show up at ERs with injuries serious enough to require professional medical attention.

Researchers say that’s probably a vast underreporting of the countless mishaps that people keep to themselves. Let’s face it -- that’s got to be a lot of people, since taking extra care with the hair down there has become a cultural norm in recent years. Surveys show that almost 90 percent of young women in the U.S. partially or fully remove the stuff, and up to 78 percent of men do it too -- regardless of sexual orientation.

Phew! That’s a lot of busy beavers! Hehe -- beavers. Ok, I’ll stop now.

Is my cellphone giving me zits?

Will retinoids make me more likely to get a sunburn?

Is there a specific ingredient I should be looking for when I choose beauty products?

If my mom has wrinkles, will I?

These are some of the questions that keep me up at night. That and, "Where the hell did these wrinkles come from? Wasn't I going to the prom, like, last week???"

That's why on the latest episode of The Jenny Isenman Show, I'm firing questions at my favorite dermatologist, the author of Forget the Facelift, Dr. Doris Day. Dr. Day has made numerous appearances on Good Morning America, The Dr. Oz Show, The View, and 20/20 ... to name a few.

Watch this episode after the jump to hear Dr. Day debunk myths, answer all your beauty questions, and give you the bare minimum you need to be your most beautiful self. What she says may surprise you!

Do you feel like you’re caught in the rut of rolling out of bed, donning the "Mom Uniform" with a ponytail, and heading out to start your day?

I don’t! That's because I make a conscious effort not to get stuck in the "mom trap."

Look, I’ve let go of lots of things: workouts with any regularity, my ability to have a glass of wine midday, my affinity for "me time." But I refuse to give up the glam! I don’t care if I’m at the park with my stilettos digging into rubber mulch -- I simply won't let my style go (it’s all I have left!).

And in that spirit, this week on The Jenny Isenman Show, I’m the expert. Watch after the jump and I’ll share a couple of my favorite tips for going from forgettable to fabulous, like:

How to make your knockers knock-outs. How to make your mane magnificent. How to emphasize your eyes. Read More

One of the most fun aspects of Halloween is creating a scary, spooky, or glamorous look from face paint. You can go from normal-looking suburban mom to goddess of the night in 15 minutes of mirror time!

But those paints do not come cheap and might be good for one use only. And how about this for really scary: HealthyStuff.org tested 31 different face paint kits available at mass marketers like Target and at Halloween stores and found that all of the face-painting kits contained toxic metals. Half had cadmium in them and one-third had arsenic.

That's not the kind of Halloween treat we want! Read on for tips on making your own face paints and using stuff that's already in your cosmetic bag to create the perfect disguise.

Oh mah gahhh, wouldn't you love to do your makeup just like Kim Kardashian does? Well I hope you have about five hours because looking this "natural" does not come easy. If you've always thought Kim looks like she wears a lot of makeup, it's because she does.

Three things I miss about being pregnant: luxurious hair, strong nails, and beautiful, radiant skin.

We can't help you with the hair or the nails, but in this latest episode of  The Sarah James Show, Sarah talks to a dermatologist about how to get that lovely, healthy glow back ... without adding to your family.

Unsurprisingly, an overall healthy lifestyle is the most important factor in beautiful skin. Exercise, a good diet, and plenty of sleep will all show up on your face.

Fruits and vegetables, especially those with a lot of Vitamin C like broccoli, or with lycopene, like tomatoes and strawberries, keep your glow going.

What could make the first day of school extra special? Maybe an extra-special hairdo! It's all about braids, fauxhawks, glitter, and hair mascara this year. And there are so many fun ways to work those looks.

Last night at a Crest and Oral B event, I got to see the stylists of New York's Doodle Doo's work their magic on several kids. Check out these six fab hairstyles -- and yes, we even included one for boys! And check out which hair products Doodle Doo's recommends for kids. Did someone say hair glitter?

These are simple hairstyles you could do yourself -- maybe with a little practice the week before. They're all great a keeping your kids' hair tidy through the whole school day. Well, mostly tidy. You know how wild school can get sometimes.
