I found myself drooling over an advertisement for nude high-heel sandals the other day like they were giant ice-cream sundaes (or Ryan Gosling). Oh am I sooooooooo tired of my winter boots! Alas, it's not sandal weather yet in most parts of the country (you lucky ducks in Florida can go ahead and just laugh at us). (Oh and also I'm married -- sorry Ryan!)

But that's OK!  I've got some great picks for shoes that will satisfy your spring-tooth but that you can actually start wearing now. Pedicure is optional!

It’s wintertime and though the glistening mounds of snow and beautiful sculptured icicles are pristine to look at, they don't do much for the skin. In my house, winter means cold, dry weather that ruins my skin. It becomes dry, ashy, and itchy. It is miserable and if I dare to go outside for extended amounts of time or with wet hands, they often end up dry, cracked, and bleeding. It’s awful. Thankfully, it doesn’t have to be that way. With a few precautions you can have beautiful, supple skin all year round.

Here are things you can do to avoid dry skin this winter.

There's no doubt it has been a chilly winter for many of us. This is the time of year for bundling up and staying warm, so I was in luck when I found a viral pin that upcycles old sweaters into mittens! I've been dying to try this because it looks like it could actually work, but I had my reservations. Could the sweater mittens keep my hands warm? Do I have to know how to sew to complete these? Would they fall off my hands?

I had to give it a try!

Another Fashion Week is at an end in New York City, leaving us with tons of photos to drool over and feel depressed about because we can't afford ... hey! Wait a minute! That's crazy talk. Yes, more designer clothing is not for the mere mortal like me, but that doesn't mean we can't take inspiration from the fabulous trends and looks on the runways. Here are some of my favorites from this season that anyone can totally pull off!

Holy moly am I bored to tears of my winter "uniform!" And by that I mean either jeans or leggings with the same boring rotation of boring long-sleeved tops and boring sweaters. I need a tropical vacation! For three months!

Sigh. Since we can't all have that (and if you can, can you please put me in your suitcase?), we CAN indulge in a little retail therapy. Tons of stuff is on major mark-down right now, so it's the perfect time to treat yourself (and your closet!).

Is it summer yet? I say that just about every single day, and the answer keeps being ... NO! If you're like me and crave sunshine and brightness all winter long, cheer yourself up with some pretty, vibrant makeup, whether on your nails or for some extra kissable lips.

If I were a superhero, I'd be static girl. No one would want me on their superhero-avenging-type league, and at parties I'd stand alone and cry. In the best case scenario, I'd manage to mildly irritate a super-villain before they killed me for shocking them. Nobody likes static.

There's more of it in the winter months, and while it's easy enough to combat when your hair is the sticky-uppy culprit, getting your clothes static-free is a whole other deal. The easy fix is obviously spritzing yourself with water. But, given the recent outbreak of POLAR BEAR MURDERING WEATHER, tossing water upon your person might not be so appealing.

Brrr..it's cold outside! As if it isn't difficult enough to decide what to wear any old day of the week, it becomes nearly impossible once snow begins falling and temperatures dip into the 30s, 20s, or -- gasp -- teens and single digits! And while we still may be perfecting our ability to effectively layer without looking like Eskimos, one clothing item doesn't have to be such a headache AND can make your entire winter outfit: an amazing pair of snow/rain boots.

Well, another celebration of Christmas has come and gone, and all royal watchers' eyes were glued on England to see what Duchess Catherine would wear at St. Mary Madgalene Church, the church on Queen Elizabeth's Sandringham Estate, for the late-morning Christmas services. Our bet was on Kate's Christmas outfit featuring maroon or red -- like last year, when she went to services with the Middletons, and in 2011, when she was photographed in a maroon coat. But the only constant that remained were the Kiki McDonough green amethyst earrings she's worn every year!

For the traditional walk home from church, the Duchess opted for her tartan Alexander McQueen Black Watch coat (which she last wore in November 2012 to play field hockey at her old prep school), a new green suede Gina Foster hat, and her go-to Aquatalia Rhumba black, knee-high suede boots. And in the festive forest green ensemble, she's never looked lovelier.

Well, it's technically not Christmas yet, but that isn't stopping the royal family from going all out and celebrating! Kate Middleton, Prince William, little Prince George, Prince Charles and Camila, and Princess Beatrice, among others, were invited to Buckingham Palace today for the Queen's annual pre-Christmas lunch. Judging from the rain-spotted first photos taken of the Duke and Duchess arriving in their black Range Rover (not the new Bentley today!), it was quite dreary in London. But Kate kept things merry and bright in a festive, red coat, which yup, she's worn before!

Nope, it wasn't the L.K. Bennett one she wore on Poppy Day last month, or her scarlet Marianne coat-dress by Catherine Walker, which she wore on her final stop in Canada, but another beloved red coat -- by Armani, according to Grazia.
