As much as the press loves to rip Kim Kardashian for her maternity style, they love to gush about Kate Middleton's. In the world of tabloids, Kim has no clue how to dress her pregnant belly and is constantly choosing unflattering looks, while the Duchess of Cambridge has got pregnant style alll figured out. But it's not as black and white as they make it out to be. Kim has definitely rocked some hot, flattering looks lately! And to her credit as well, Kate was photographed wearing an outfit this week in Scotland that really was a hit worth clucking about.

The navy and grey plaid, A-line, wool pea coat by Moloh is the kind of coat any woman -- expecting or otherwise -- dreams about having as a part of her collection. I say that in part because to actually buy it would run you a cool $640. Ouch! But also, it's dreamy, because it's that flattering. In fact, it's so flattering, that in the pics of Kate in the coat, there's no bump in sight.

Once the temperature dips below 60 degrees, I wear jeans just about every day. Even when it's warm, my jean wearing stat is probably close to 80 percent of the time. Now that it's winter, it's jeans every day or yoga pants while inside and I am so bored with my clothes choices. So I challenged myself to not wear pants for a week. That meant dresses or skirts even in frigid temps while running after and around with my 3-year-old twins doing my typical stay-at-home mom duties who freelance writes while wearing yoga pants and sweatshirts.

Could it be done? The key was layering.

Aloha, all you cold weather party people. Since the temperature here in New York City is approximately zero dark negative thirty, I think it's time we have a chat about appropriate winter wear. Most specifically, earmuffs. More specifically, on men.

I'm not here to make any excuses or solve any problems, but let's all just get one thing straight: dudes in earmuffs look ridiculous. Just look at Zac Efron here taking a break while filming Are We Officially Dating in NYC and tell me he doesn't look absurd in his muffs.

Ok, everyone, it's time to get excited -- because Kate Middleton recycled her ruby-colored L.K. Bennett coat to take in a rugby match with Wills -- and we all know that Kate Middleton wearing anything and going anywhere is definite cause for celebration. (C'mon, you know it's true.)

And while the color of the coat looks gorgeous on her and makes her perfectly shiny hair and creamy complexion look even more ridiculously beautiful than usual, it's hard not to look at her wearing this thing with one key question in mind.

Temperatures in the northeast are starting to drop, but chillier weather obviously isn't enough reason for Katie Holmes to break down and wear pantyhose.

This photo of her was taken earlier this week as she strolled the streets of New York City with Suri, and even though she doesn't have the slightest hint of a tan, Katie went bare-legged and ended the debate over when moms are required to wear pantyhose once and for all.

Since there's no avoiding it, let's just all agree that winter is well on its way. And coming along with it? A darker, drearier cold weather wardrobe. It's a big bummer, but it's true. Seems like all the stores have ditched their prettier, eye-popping color for the warmer, richer winter tones. But just because the stores are doing it doesn't mean we have to, too.

Forget your basic black, gray, and brown -- it's time you reintroduced some color into your collection. Who cares if the weather outside is frightful (um, hi, nor'easter??), your fashion sense is certainly not, so don't be afraid to punch up your style and splash some bright, flashy hues into the mix. Of course, I'm not suggesting you head outside in all-out neon. No, just a touch of color here and a touch of color there will do the trick nicely. In fact, we scoured the web for seven ways to spruce up your tired winter wardrobe. So sit back, relax, and check out our list.

A fall coat is unlike any other coat, amirite or amirite? I mean, you've got winter coats that are impossible to look cute in, spring coats that you buy and don't really ever wear because by the time you've bought them, hey, look, it's warm outside! and summer jackets that just guarantee a sweaty back and sweaty pits. There's just something about autumn. Maybe it's the style of autumn coats, the cut, or maybe it's the fact that you can dress them up with boots, infinity scarves, and leg warmers. Whatever it is, let it be known: Fall coats are the golden tickets of our time.

When you're marching through store after store, shopping for the coat to make all other coats jealous, you've got to keep your eye on the prize. I shop for outerwear that's comfortable and cozy, warm and affordable, but most importantly, I want something unique and fashionable.

Here are five tips on how to keep your coat collection cool and chic when the chilly weather comes around:

Now that it's getting nippy outside, it's time to think about a cool weather classic -- the chunky sweater. There's so much to love about the look: 1. It's so damn warm. 2. It's great for covering up the dreaded muffin-top. 3. It's the perfect lazy alternative to getting dressed every morning. 4. Did I mention how warm I am in this thing?

But it's not always easy wearing those cozy fall sweaters the right way. Sometimes a chunky piece of clothing can make you look ... well ... chunky, bulky, and too big. It's easy to think that it doesn't do anything for your shape, but I am here to tell you that's just plain wrong.

If you're curious about how to look hot in a heavy sweater, then you've come to the right place. I just so happen to be an expert on the matter. Here, five feminine touches you can give any sweater that'll keep you from looking like a double stuffed Oreo. And while you're at it, pass the cookies.

Now that summer's winding down, it's time to get excited about fall fashion. The booties, the patterned tights, the cozy scarves. One lady who's gotten a jump start on cool weather fashion is Amanda Bynes. The troubled actress (yup, I think she's officially made her way into the "troubled actress" category) was spotted earlier this week wearing one of this season's hottest trends -- the stole face shield. The 26-year-old has had many a run-in with the law recently, there have been some DUI and hit-and-run accusations flying around, so this neckwear-over-head look is totally appropriate. What better way to show off a chic shawl than to use it to hide your face from the rabid paparazzi trying to snap a pic of your alleged over-tired and hungover visage? Amanda is a trendsetter.
