Nab That Jason Wu for Target: Your Shopping Strategy

Posted by Adriana Velez
on Feb 4, 2012 at 6:38 PM

jason wu targetIs it me, or does it seem like some sort of crazy coincidence that Jason Wu's Target line launches on Super Bowl Sunday? It's like they're giving the football widows something to do... anyway, if you wait until the game actually starts to pick up your own super-femme dresses and separates you are going to be much too late! Rumor has it this line will fly out of stores even faster than that Missoni did.

I didn't mind missing out on the Missoni for Target. But Jason Wu? Mama like! Mama need. So I'm planning my strategy to nab me some Wu before it all sells out.

Rick Santorum Inspires Cozy New Fashion Trend

Rick Santorum sweater vestWhile former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum has made a few questionable comments along the presidential campaign trail so far, I'm totally on board with his latest political move. After hearing from "several retailers" that sales of his iconic sweater vest have increased since he started wearing it practically everywhere, he's decided to get in on the retail action himself.

Prepare yourself: If you donate $100 or more to the man's campaign TODAY, you'll receive your very own Rick Santorum for President sweater vest.

Genius. By golly, Rick Santorum could be instilling a change across the nation already with this new trend! The best part? This is a potential fad that is so gender neutral, it could legitimately totally take over. And unlike most politicians, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with a quality sweater vest.

8 Beauty Resolutions for a Better-Looking You in 2012

Posted by Emily Abbate
on Jan 4, 2012 at 11:31 AM

lipstickAhhhhhhhh, New Year's Resolutions. Those three words make me cringe every January. Sure, I could always stick to the standard "I pledge to drop a few pounds" oath, or I could tell myself I'll spend less money. The real truth is that resolutions are something that I, like many women, always make and seldom stick to. I know, I hate myself for it, too.

However, after taking a look-see at fashionista Lauren Conrad's pledge to "organize her closet every month," I've found all new inspiration to make this year's resolutions both something I can stick to and beauty-based. If the super-busy celeb can make a doable fashion resolution, then so can I, right? Right.

From branching out with different lipsticks to putting an end to my scrubtastic weeknight trips to the store, take a look at my 8 totally doable beauty and style resolutions for 2012:

on Jan 3, 2012 at 1:45 PM

TargetI'm a sucker for Target sleepwear -- it's generally pretty comfortable and long lasting -- so I was excited about the debut of Target's latest designer collaboration with lingerie designer Josie Natori.

Natori is known for its bright, whimsical prints and that's definitely what was played up for the Target collection. The first segment of the collection debuted in October and part two just came out in stores on the first.

Already, I've decided I MUST HAVE this Natori tunic (Target, $29.99). It's totally my kind of sleepwear -- cute and stylish without being too revealing.

Want to see more from the collection and tell me what you think in the comments?

3 Tips for Using Discount Deals to Be the Hit of the Gift Swap

GrouponIf there are two things I absolutely hate giving for the holidays, they’re 1) gift cards and 2) money. Even if that’s what the person asked for, I still feel defeated sidling up to the ATM for a $20 bill or slapping some predetermined denomination onto a little plastic card. It’s so uninspired.

I want to play with the possibilities of what the people on my list will like. I want to test how well I know their tastes. I want to see their faces light up when they open the bag or tear apart the gift wrap and see whatever fantastic piece of imaginative thoughtfulness I’ve come up with to make their season bright.

Deal-of-the-day websites have made that holiday cheer-sharing easier. One might argue they’re not much better than a gift card or a wad of cash. But if you’re quick and a little creative, they’ll open up a whole new avenue in your gift-giving greatness.

Heidi Klum's Favorite Style Tip Shows She's Just Like You & Me

Heidi KlumIf you were to tell me that Heidi Klum and I have something in common, I'd laugh uncontrollably. Come on! The 38-year-old supermodel/television host/5' 9'' super momma and I are SO not in the same demographic, at ALL.

So -- I was dumbfounded by what she told Anderson Cooper on his daytime talk show Anderson today. Turns out we're much more alike than I thought, and in the least likely way.

I'll give you a hint: It has to do with our shopping habits and our love for a certain store by the name of J.Crew.

New Developments in the War Between Salon and Supermarket Shampoos

Posted by Lindsay Ferrier
on Dec 7, 2011 at 2:12 PM

DoveSeveral months ago, we had a raging debate here on She's Still Got It over whether high-priced salon shampoos and conditioners were any better than the stuff you can get at the grocery.

I'll be the first to admit, I only buy shampoo and conditioner at the supermarket -- I spend my dollars instead on high-priced styling creams and serums.

At the time, I had been sent Dove's new line of Nourishing Oil Care products. I tried them out and liked them. But now I've been using the shampoo and conditioner from the line for months -- and there's something I need to tell you ...
