Dress Like Beyonce for $25

Suzanne Murray

Beyonce has just been named as the official face of the Fashion for Haiti T-shirt. The shirt was designed for the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) by Peter Arnell, who also designed the Fashion for America tee that raised $2 million after 9/11. The limited edition Haiti T-shirt goes on sale ($25) on February 16 at stores across the country. Net proceeds will benefit the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, which is raising much-needed money for the earthquake recovery efforts.

I'm all for helping the people of Haiti, but I can't decide if I actually like the T-shirt. I'm also not sure if it makes sense to buy the T-shirt or just donate the money directly to a relief fund (since they'd get the entire amount). On the positive side, wearing the shirt is supposed to spread the message of hope and may inpsire more folks to donate money. Plus, when else am I ever going to own a piece of clothing that Beyonce has too?

What do you guys think? Do you like the shirt? Do you think it makes sense to buy it or donate directly?
