Do You Get Dressed Every Day?

Do you get dressed to leave the house... every single morning... whether you leave the house or not?

Well, I don't, but I think that's got to change.

I've been working on my New Year's Resolution to Find Joy in a More Balanced Life, and one of my first month's goals is to get dressed as if I'm leaving the house every week day morning (I work from home).

I love to tease people that I'm wearing my pajamas while emailing from work (sometimes it's no lie!), but the truth is I find I'm much more productive on the days I shower and/or get dressed to leave the house before I start the work day (before I check a single email!). It's been a hard lesson, especially in winter when it's so warm and comfy to stay in sweats all day long. However, I have to admit I do better when I start the day off ready to go.

First off, I walk my son to the bus every morning, and he about died when I wore my pajama top under my coat one morning. While I love to torture him, wearing my PJs out is not something I'm proud to be able to do each day. Secondly, I do *have to* leave the house every day at some point to go back to the bus stop in the afternoon and then later to drive and pick up my youngest from preschool. So, if I don't start off my day ready to go, then I have to interrupt the flow of my work day to shower and change. And believe me, once I get going, I need all the minutes in a row that I can get.

Whether it's the weekend or you're a SAHM or a WAHM, what's your experience with getting dressed each morning? Necessary or makes no difference in your day? And what are we talking here — pants or sweat pants?

I completely agree with you. I neer thought about this b4 but it makes complete sense. When I get out of bed and get my girl up for pre-k, the last thing I think about is changing out of my pjs. It does put you in a different set of mind. When I stay in pjs I tend to have the relax and lounge around feeling but I still work. If I get ready then I feel more..ok, time to get down to business and I am in that frame of mind. I too am home most of the time, only to go to the bus stop and then go pick her up. So the thought of actually getting ready seems pointless if I will be at home and NOONE will be seeing me. So, yeah, I go back and forth on this depending on how I feel each day. Do I feel relaxed or do I feel energized and ready to take on the day. By the way..what kind of work do u do at home? I am an Independent Beachbody Coach. I share my LOVE of helping ppl get fit and healthy. , Good question by the way!

I feel blah if I stay in my jammies...once in a while is ok but getting in the shower and putting on clothes gets me motivated for the day.  Normally I put on jeans but today it's so cold I have workout pants and a turltle neck on....LOL

I am a SAHM and I get dressed everyday unless I am sick. If I am sick I stay in my pajamas all day. Even if I don't go anywhere I get dressed. I want to look good for my husband when he comes home. I wouldn't let him see me in my pj's and looking messy when we were dating so I don't want him to come home to see me like that as his wife. JMO I'm NOT bashing. That is just me.

I am a SAHM and there are definitly days I dont get dressed, especially now that my DH is deployed. I only have a few PJ days a month, but there are times I just get dressed and put my hair in a ponytail and maybe put on mascara.

I have to get dressed or I just lay around, lol...if I"m in pj's I'm usually unproductive, it's a mentality thing I guess. There have been days I haven't gotten dressed and worked (I work from home) but not too often. I need to officially "start my day" with a cup of coffee and clothes, just how I was raised or wired or something.
