What Your Hairstyle Says About You

by Michele Zipp on October 17, 2009 at 7:00 AM

blonde hairLately my hair has been a total mess -- I just don't have the time or energy to do much with it. And when I'm around the house, not seeing anyone from the outside world, it's bed head times ten.

Apparently that means I am laid back and spontaneous.

Hmm...sometimes. Want to know what your look says about you?

Cosmopolitan magazine talked to some experts about what different hairstyles say about the person wearing them. Study is based on "downtime" hair -- which I will translate to mean when you are home and not hosting guests. Who has downtime?

Here are the results:

  • Women who wear ponytails are super sexy between the sheets -- they have a sexual self-confidence with a kind of a look-at-me vibe.
  • If you always have your hair done, it means you like to be in control and take the lead.
  • Do you have wild, untamed hair, and wear it down like me? We're more laid back and spontaneous.
  • A messy bun means you are a flirt.

How do you wear your hair and do you think the description matches you?

well when my hair was long enough, it was almost always in a ponytail, and I would have to say its kinda true. I used to reek self confidence, then I had a baby and three years later I still have baby weight so the self confidence is at an all time low.

My hair is staight, all the time. So when I'm chilling at home, it's just brushed out and straight..

I'm pretty sure this scares the heck out of me.  I quit carrying a brush about 10 years ago and I'm not sure I even think of how my hair looks all day long.  Ummmm...nothing that says can be any good - LOL.

I always have my hair 'done' (for me that just means running a flat iron through it after it air dries.)  I'm really not a control freak- the length of my hair just does not lend itself to not styling it at all.

I'll have to ask my husband if the pony tail thing is true :)

My hair is super messy at all times or pulled into a messy pony tail.  I think I go between all three.

I'm pretty sure my hair in a pony tail means I just want it out of my face or off my neck because it's annoying me.  And that description certainly isn't me, lol.

The mess bun thing...that could be true.  And "doing" my hair for me means pulling it into a pony tail, lol.

I really don't care about my hair.  I wash it and that's about it.  I don't color it or use any products in it.  I cut it short (just below my chin) at the beginning of summer and let it grow out the rest of the year.  I haven't had bangs since I was 14 because you have to keep them trimmed and I haven't had my hair styled since then either.  It's always just a straight cut...simple and easy to care for.

thats actually pretty accurate. i always have my hair done. its the one thing im really vain about. the only time my hair is in a pony tail is if i am running. i do like to be in control and tend to take the lead if no one else will.

Hmmm..I don't know. At home when I'm not going anywhere, my hair is in a ponytail. For me, my hair being "done" means the ponytail is combed and sprayed with hairspray! I think it has more to do with the fact that my hair is thick and frizzy, plus I get super hot if I leave it down. I can't stand for my hair to be in my face. So I guess the "sexy between the sheets" thing can just be a bonus! Like fmchavez, I'll have to ask SO if it's true!

I wear it all ways.  Today is a bun, yesterday was a ponytail, when we are on schedule I like it done.
