Hot Boots...But Why Is the Toe Cut Out?

Open-toed shoes are as much a part of summer as me getting a sunburn if I'm outside for more than ten minutes.
But this open-toed look is continuing on and showing up on boots for the fall season.
Peep-toe boots...I'm not sure what to think.
First of all, standing alone, these J. Aldridge by Sea of Shoes Laced Boot ($158) from Urban Outfitters are hot! I love the color, the lace up, the knee highness, the platform, and super high heel. But then...blip...toes are out.
If they were closed toe, these would make my must-have list. But the toes out are just not my style. Besides, how do you wear socks with these? I guess you don't.
What do you think of peep-toe boots?

I like them but can't imagine wearing them in the snow. Brrr ... icy toes.

lol yes... defeats the purpose of wearing them to keep your feet warm I think
but man.. if the toes werent cut out... so cute!
LoriAnn87
they are some ugly boots, I would never wear them.

....Why would you wear boots with the toes cut out? I find the problem I always have with boots is my toes get cold. These would be aweful

I dig 'em. I almost bought a pair yesterday but shorter in height..

You're right — they're very nice but not practical for fall and winter weather, which is when I wear boots. Maybe in my next life I'll have use for such boots. :)

Gonna have to fail the peep toed boots. Like you said, these would definitely be a must have sans the peep toe!
