More than 50 percent of women say their feet embarrass them "always, frequently, or sometimes." Are you part of this statistic? I most definitely am...
What embarrasses me most about my feet? My bunions and my hairy big toe (it only grows on the right one, how weird is that?). I know, unacceptable! I should take better care of my feet—and seriously how hard is it to shave my big toe once in a while!—but it's true that I spend more time and maintenance on other parts of my body.
And, apparently, I'm not alone.
According to the article, only 1 in 3 women moisturize their feet eight or more times a month. However, most women have both a day moisturizer and a night moisturizer for their face. And even though most of us do paint our toes, our heels often get ignored.
Spa employees and podiatrists interviewed for the article said that women are so embarrassed by their feet that they frequently apologize for their corns, dry heels, ingrown toenails, and hairy toes (Yay! There are others like me!). Some women even have sex with socks on because they are so disgusted.
Isn't it time we paid more attention to our feet? Do you like or hate your feet?
