This past week we lost two very well-known celebrities, yes. But we also lost two very well-known style icons in Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett.
If you grew up in the late 70s and early 80s, no doubt you and your friends were rockin' some Farrah-inspired feathered hair. Others of you may have sported an afro and wished the boys at school could pull off some Jackson 5 style — those smooth, funky get-ups with wide-collared shirts, vests, printed and striped bell-bottomed pants, suits, and an array of stylish hats.
Those of you who coming of age in the 80s may have coveted the red leather jackets made famous in Beat It and Thriller, and admit it, you tried the single glove thing at least once (even if you never left the house in it).
Thinking about Michael and Farrah's legendary style contributions, I enjoyed clicking through Time magazine's two recent photo galleries: The Young Michael Jackson at Home and Farrah Fawcett: A Life in Pictures. Both provide a glimpse at the stars' fashion sensibilities.
Look at this argyle sweater and floral shirt combo. Who could rock that look better than the young Michael Jackson? And look at Farrah's hair. That's some dreamy feathery-ness there. No one could feather like Farrah could feather.
Did you feather your hair like Farrah or glove your hand like Michael? Tell us about it.

Guilty!!!!!! I so had a Farrah cut, of course, mine looked absolutely nothing like hers...but how wonderful was it to pretend that it did! That was back when I didn't know you were supposed to brush the back of your head! hahahah
Yes, I too had the feathered hair going on!
