MAV's "how to wear a men's button-down shirt" post over on 3191 Miles Apart is a great one to have in your bookmarks. I mean, as much as I'd like to, I have not been able to successfully wear a men's dress shirt. MAV gives good, useful tips though.
I may not ever be able to rock a man's dress shirt in a style reminiscent of the way Carrie Bradshaw rocked Mr. Big's (belt and heels and all), but these "how to" tips I can try and probably even rock — albeit *not* in four-inch stilettos.

I think it takes a certain body type to pull of a real honest to goodness mens shirt, because mens shirts are not cut roomy in the hips, like womens shirts They are just straight up and down construction.. but her back cinching idea is perfect for fixing that! As a kid who grew up in the Seattle grunge scene, there is just something about a mens plaid shirt that will always have my heart, lol
When plaid was huge this past fall/winter, I got ahold of one of my dad's old plaid flannel shirts, wrapped a belt around the waist, paired it with tights and went on my way. It was a cute look.
