Sarah Palin has to look good on the campaign trail...we all know how much looks and beauty plays into things. But what gets me is why the attention is on Gov. Palin spending $150,000 on a makeover and not the men. I got to see how expensive a nice suit was when my now-husband and I shopped for his clothes for our wedding earlier in the year. We spent over $500 and it was on sale! Barack Obama's suits cost way more than that.
Obama wears Hartmax suits and they retail for around $1,500! McCain paid $5,000 for a makeup artist! And I wonder how much Biden spends on teeth whitening or maybe he just uses Cafe Kristen's inexpensive recipe.
What do you think? Is it too much? Should we care?
And what would you buy if you had $150,000 to spend on your wardrobe?

I think it is pretty extravagent, especially if they are trying to reach the middle class that shops at Dillards, JC Pennys, and Target!
If I had $150,000 to spend on my wardrobe? I would take $1000. of it and buy some new things and put the rest on re-doing my house - better closets to hold my clothes I already have!

I sure hope it wasn't on what she is wearing in that picture... not so cute. But in all honesty if she can afford it than why do we care what she does with her money. If we all had enough money we would do the same.
If I had $150,000 to spend on my wardrobe, and I couldn't spend it anywhere else, I would get a pair of those red soled Louboutins, Gucci fringe boots, and spend the rest buying lots of one-of-a-kind vintage.
I think we should care because my understanding (and correct me if I'm wrong) is that the campaign paid for it--which means WE paid for it, and all of the expensive suits and make-up and hair artists, too. Yes, all of the candidates actually need to look their best, and that's going to mean spending money. But come on! $150k in two months?
If someone handed me that much money I might spend a little on clothes. The rest would have to go toward paying off our student loans and credit cards and paying down our mortgage.
This election is driving me nuts. It is completely sexist and nobody seems to care- everyone is holding their breath about whether or not we are being racist. Why don't we find out exactly how much all of the men from this current and past election have spent on their appearance and then compare? Oh, and also, wouldn't Palin be slammed if she were wearing something from Marshall's by all the cheap-shot media?
geez all that money should be redirected towards a better cause. As simple as that outfit is it could definitely be recreated fom even target brands.
