Feed Your Skin with a Pumpkin Facial

You've gone pumpkin picking with the kids and either decorating like Cafe Sheri suggests or trying new recipes like Cafe Kim did...but did you know that pumpkin is actually really great for your skin? I don't mean to slather some pie on your face (maybe the kids will do that), I'm talking about a great recipe to get your skin really ready for fall by giving yourself a pumpkin facial!

Rich in the vitamins A, C, and zinc, this recipe I found on Diva Village shows how you can moisturize and nourish your face with pumpkin for a pretty autumn glow.

Pumpkin Facial

  • 1/4 cup of fresh pumpkin, cooked and then pureed (you can used canned, too)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon of milk or soy milk
  • For dry skin, add: 1/4 teaspoon of heavy whipping cream for extra moisturizing or 1/4 teaspoon of brown sugar to exfoliate
  • For oily skin, add: 1/4 teaspoon of apple cider to help circulation or 1/4 teaspoon of cranberry juice, which is great if you have acne

Directions: Mix gently and apply to face, avoiding eye area. Leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Try not to eat it...it smells so good!

Want to know what to do with the extra pumpkin puree? Cafe Kim in the Food & Party Buzz offers up a recipe on how to make a pumpkin martini!

Are you going to give it a try?
