So they're rich and famous, but celebrities still love a bargain. Or maybe they realize that just because something is inexpensive, it doesn't mean it's not good quality.
We could have told them that, right?
Rihanna, Nicole Richie, Anne Hathaway, Madonna -- all these women have favorite beauty products that can be found in a drugstore or bargain shop.
Want to know who uses what?
Elle's Beauty Spotlight is on Celebrity Cheap Sheet, a great who's using what on-the-cheap guide.
It's Nicole Richie who uses Sunsilk Waves of Envy Sea Mist ($2.79 on sale from Drugstore.com) -- the sea salt in the product gives her hair those beachy waves. I want!
Anne Hathaway loves Aquaphor Healing Ointment ($5.99 from Drugstore.com) -- it's a good lip balm (plus good for the body), but also works well as a lipstick base. Good to know.
Rihanna's locks get the moisture and strength they need from Marula's Natural Therapy Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner ($7 each, check site for stores). I could use a deep conditioning.
Madonna's S-shaped wavy hair is achieved by using Revlon's 3-Barrel Jumbo Waver ($24.95 from Amazon). I have this wave iron and have to say...when I do find time to use it, it makes my hair look really good. And it's easy to use.
Elle has the scoop on more celeb favorites -- beauty secrets include using baby powder, Andrea Modlash Lashes, and CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain. See who uses these items over at Elle.

My favorite inexpensive hair product is Suave Tropical Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner.
I've learned a few things from this recession - (1) the importance of saving (2) the importance of not spending money frivilously on overly priced makeup. After getting to the bottom of each and every makeup product I owned (which mostly came from Sephora) I was forced to find replacements that were less expensive. I don't have time to brave the crowds at walmart, so I do a lot of online deal hunting. Most of my stuff now comes from Ebay shops or specialty cosmetics stores online. I found a great site called Coono Babe. Their makeup is really inexpensive and really great quality. Of note are their lip glosses and face powders. An added bonus - they offer free shipping on all orders. Check them out!
My favorite inexpensive beauty product is making my own -- with natural ingredients instead of chemicals ;)
