Waxing down there? Illegal? Say it ain't so. There's talk that legalizing marijuana would help the economy, but Brazilian waxing could be outlawed in New Jersey?
Do they realize how this would greatly change the look of the New Jersey shore?
Kidding aside, I need to know more. Will this ban spread to other parts of the country?
CafeMom LuvsDanika asked for opinions on this hairy situation.
OneToughMami said that what's probably happening is that are shops not licensed to do waxing that are doing it. She's right. And I'm sure there are also bad waxers out there. As a result people have complained (as they should have), one woman is sueing, and now The State Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling got involved. It turns out that waxing the genital area has always been illegal in The Garden State.
Guess they like their garden to grow.
xxhazeldovexx said that the at-home kits can be a good alternative if it gets banned.
That may work for some women, like my friend who loves Bliss' Poetic Waxing Kit, but I can't wax myself. I tried. It was disastrous!
Do you wax at a salon? What if they banned waxing in your state?

10 Questions to Ask Yourself Before Having Kids

The issue needs to be making sure businesses do it safely. They should ask you health questions and have your info on file before they wax you, as there are medical conditions that can make waxing dangerous.
I'd have to actually see what's being discussed before I could form more of an opinion on this particular bit, though.
LOL! I like the little jokes you threw in there :)
I only get my eyebrows waxed and I'd have a fit if they banned it!
I'd love to see the sting operation that they would use to bust an illegal wax parlor!
Waxing is ridiculous. A lady at the gym I used to go to went to a high end salon to get her eyebrows waxed. Weeeeeeeeeelllll even though they used clean instruments, they double dipped in the wax.
She ended up with herpes on her eyebrows. Rare situation, I know, but count me out for any kind of waxing from anyone besides myself!!!
I can't wax myself.. not from being fearful, but because I make too huge of a mess. That's just with eyebrows, so I can't imagine trying anything else!
Ive never had a Brazilian Wax but i plan to sometime after i heal from having my 2nd baby. What epoh said kindof freaked me out... So i'll be watching them take everything out brand new >__>
That's kind of funny, on the side that someone out there must think that sort of thing is controllable. Obviously the ban isn't for the actual waxing, it's for institutions to do it. I'm tired of people thinking they can sue for just anything... it's getting ridiculous.
I think that any practice that could become a health risk should be regulated but not banned because of any one individuals bad experience. Having said that........ I opted for laser and never have to think about it ever again. Woohoo!
Just the thought of a Brazilian Wax..ow!
