Every Thursday, I feature a new homemade beauty formula and this week I found one right in the comments when I asked you to share your favorite DIY recipe with me. And you all sure did!
CafeMom lilmamaxx's idea was perfect for right now -- it will slough away your winter skin to get it ready for the new season.
Dead skin beware. This sugared vanilla coconut salt body scrub is going to be like Kryptonite to Superman!
This recipe is great for elbows, knees, and feet to help remove dead skin, but also works well on legs, arms, and torso. Plus it smells delish! And it sure is more cost effective than buying a body scrub from the store.
You will need:
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1/2 cup raw sugar
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon of jojoba oil
- 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
How to prepare:
Fill jar or bowl with all ingredients and mix well. This recipe will give you 3-6 uses depending on if you use it all over body or just in spots. Keep in an airtight mason jar or something similar. You may have to stir before each use.
Have you ever made your own body scrub?

Peajewel, apparently I missed the "make this and give him a pedicure" line my first go-around, so I was seriously confused as to how getting a new puppy had anything to do with ... yeah, can I just blame this on pregnancy brain? :D
Michele, good to know. I actually have much more of epsom, kosher and sea salt than I do table salt. I'm not a huge fan of the iodine. :)
No worry, I tend to ramble.......a lot!
I would use sea salt too. MMMMMMMMMMMM
Thanks, going to try this.
Salt, half a lemon and olive oil is all you need! Of course yours is probably more yummy smelling... :)
