I'm never going to own any of the clothes I see at Fashion Week (my gawd, the prices), but I can style my hair like the models on the runway. How rock and roll is this updo seen here on model Ubah Hassan as she prepped to strut the catwalk at the Walter show?! It was created by the way cool Scott Fontana, stylist and owner of Badass Hair. Pretty badass, indeed. Want to know can you get the look?

Scott and his team knew they needed an edgy look for the show, so they styled the girls using Badass Hair products. Hair was teased and tousled into an updo accented with velvet wrap around ribbon and feather pins.

"I wanted the hair to reflect the clothes and the whole edgy attitude that makes the Walter collection so cool. The updo was messy while still being chic, lots of teasing, but still really feminine," says Fontana.

Scott used:

  • Up All Night to create volume
  • Free, a working hair spray, when teasing the hair
  • Locked Up hair spray to hold the hair in place
  • Light It Up hair shine to give the style a gorgeous sheen

First you have to "dirty up" your hair with product. Tease. Then loosely secure in ponytail and pin up ends to secure, while teasing more. It's all about product here.

If you want a feather to pin in, I found this cute Imagine - Pink Feather Pin ($5) from ubercake on Etsy.
