When I was planning my wedding, I loved looking at other people's wedding photos for ideas. It didn't matter if the couple eloped in Vegas or had a huge wedding on the family farm, there was always something romantic about each and every one. Yes, I am the girl who cries at weddings...my own, my friends, and even the fake weddings I see on TV. Hopeless romantic? Yep. But it's just such a beautiful moment!
I put together photos from my May wedding in a beautiful French courtyard in New Orleans, so you can get an idea of the theme I was going for as far as style and beauty.
The flower girl scattered rose petals from a bird's nest, and the ring bearer carried our rings in a mini nest, too. We had our signature drinks listed in a intricate frame and gave 5X5 "love birds" paintings as a favor. The bouquets had shades of red and purple with peonies, dahlias, and bluebird and black magic roses. The groom's cake was a replica of Mr. Cafe MicheleZ's guitar and our wedding cake featured Mexican celebratory flags and Dia de los Muertos bride and groom dolls on top.

I bought little birds and printed names with table assignment on silver paper and pinned them in. I also made my own program guides decorated with little bird stamps. We had a Polariod and sign in book and the table markers were also made by yours truly. I loved that day! Dress by Melissa Sweet -- I wish I could wear it often. I also made my own headband.
It's so nice to re-live a moment like this...especially with Valentine's Day coming up.

I had a renaissance wedding with flowers everywhere. Both real and fake. I have a thing for flowers. It was so beautiful & romantic. My bouquets was a wreath, my dh did not like it. But I wanted something unique and flower filled. I thought it was wonderful. I want another wedding!
That sounds beautiful, catgrrrl. I love the Renaissance era!
Those photographs are beautiful. While I could not justify spending cold hard cash on my own wedding, as a wedding performer I understand how important a wedding can be to a couple, and how great it is when the individual personalities of both bride and groom are represented. You guys did that in spades, great job!
