Aretha Franklin is a woman who isn't afraid of taking fashion risks -- the Queen of Soul has made many bold style choices. And even though she wore a subdued gray coat when she sang My Country 'Tis of Thee during the Inauguration of Barack Obama, I couldn't take my eyes off of Aretha's hat.

Designed by Detroit hat maker, Luke Song of Mr. Song Millinery, Aretha's now-infamous head piece, made of wool felt and Swarovski crystals, has a lot of us split on whether we liked it or not.

But according to the Detroit Free Press, the phone at Song's shop started ringing moments after Aretha appeared on TV wearing his creation...and shops that carry his line were selling out fast. The cost? $179.

I personally wouldn't wear the hat -- it's just not my style. But I think the Queen of Soul can get away with it. It suits her bold style.
