Terrifying 'Elf on the Shelf' Makeup Transforms Woman into a Full-Blown Tortured Mom at Christmas

This year, the ultra-popular Elf on the Shelf can be found pretty much everywhere. The little elf is meant to watch over your kids and make sure they make it on Santa's nice list, although lots of people also find him a little creepy. Skilled makeup artist @Zoe-artistsharvest on Instagram captured the little toy's essence with some pretty terrifying (but hilarious) Elf on the Shelf–inspired makeup looks

  • Zoe posted a series of impressive makeup looks utilizing the elf's posing ability, like this one, where he literally peels back her eyelids.

"It's that time of year again, time to literally keep your eyes peeled for those naughty little elves," she wrote in the caption.

Those aren't her real eyelids, obviously. She created the look with regular makeup, and got the 3D effect from SynWax from Mehron, which is a synthetic modeling wax.

  • She used a similar strategy for her makeup look in which the elf is hanging off her mouth.

This gives new meaning to "The Nightmare Before Christmas."

  • Then, the elf wrapped up Zoe's face in ribbon, which she created using body paint.

"That pesky Elf ... " she wrote in the caption. As you'll later learn, the elf is more like evil.

  • To create this look, in which the elf is setting her hair on fire, she used only body paint and makeup.

I don't think anyone will be able to look at an Elf on the Shelf and not see its violent potential anymore.

  • In an aptly named look called "Candy Cane Carnage," the elf stabs Zoe with a candy cane.

Oh, the magic of body paint. I don't think I'll ever be able to eat candy canes the same again.

  • People loved Zoe's elf series, and some agreed that there is something off about that Elf on the Shelf.

"My daughter would love this! Love the artistry," one person commented.

"This is HILARIOUS," another person wrote. "Great work, hun!!"

Hopefully, everyone else's Elf on the Shelf doesn't get any ideas from these creative makeup looks.
