The state of 'being sexy' has been long confined to a small box when it comes to mass media portrayal. And the lingerie brand Victoria's Secret has always ensured their look, models, and products adequately fit that narrow definition. But for most women, the lithe proportions of their "Angels" are far from reality, and being told that Victoria's Secret's brand of sexy is the only "right" one can be a disheartening.

  • That's why sisters and fitness gurus Alyse and Lexi Scaffidi of BiteSizedFitness hosted the "Anti-Victoria's Secret Fashion Show."

According to Design Taxi Alyse, who stands at 4'11, and her sister were inspired to host this unique fashion show after watching Victoria's Secret's famous fashion show last year. As a petite woman, despite her physique, she  would never be permitted to walk the real runway. And she realized just how many other marginalized women would be excluded from having the "right to feel sexy."

“We wanted to be ‘Angels’ ourselves, but we knew that wouldn’t be possible… It’s about breaking away from a stereotypical look of what is beautiful and celebrating who you are as a person.”

  • They wanted to reclaim sexiness not just for themselves, but every woman who feels they don't fit the "norm."

"It doesn't matter if you're 5ft tall or 6ft tall, 100 pounds or 200 pounds, if you're 20 or if you're 60 -- you are beautiful and the story, the scars, the things that make you distinct are what is beautiful about you," Alyse asserted in a video on her Youtube channel.

  • The sisters invited 21 other women to participate in a ground-breaking show where they confidently flaunted their bodies.
