Is one of your New Year's resolutions to lose some weight? It's one of the most popular promises made each January and Cafe Kristen has some excelled tips to help over at Healthy Living Buzz.
In case you want to slim down a size to fit into a fancy dress now (like the one shown here), I found a place that has clothes with built-in shapewear.
ShapeFX has dresses, pants, tops, even bathing suits, in all sizes that will slim you down a size just by slipping in -- there are minimizers sewn in.
I really love this Ruched Control Dress in purple ($39). From the bodice to knee, it has a "power-liner" slip that will keep things snug and smooth.
Of couse you can also buy shapewear to wear with your own clothes, too. Check out my features on Slimpressions and Yummie Tummie.
And wow! That dress is only $39! Super cute.

At 5'7" and 260, nothing would hold this fat in. I am so disgusted with myself, I cry every day.
I wish that when companies would promote slimfit clothes that they would use models that actually need slimfit.
Most of these dresses come in lots of sizes...and I agree...advertising often is a bit unrealistic, but a dress with built in shapewear can help a lot of women. And Cafe Kristen has some great healthy tips over on Healthy Living Buzz.
While this dress is cute, I think it's ironic (and amusing) that you chose to highlight a dress that is only available in a size XS. I would imagine that most women who fall into the size XS category aren't in much need of "slimming". They do have a large selection of dresses, but only 5 out of 36 (that's right--FIVE) are available in plus size. I also checked the tops and only 9 out of 60 are available in plus size. I get the feeling the other categories are similar, so saying this is a "plus size" store wouldn't exactly be accurate. It's a great site--if you're not looking for a wide variety of plus size clothing.
And Cici829--I completely agree! Show me that dress on a model who's a size 24 and I might be inclined to buy it, but seeing it on a size 4 model doesn't make me want to rush to get one.
This dress was available in other sizes when I wrote the post. I never said it was a "plus size" store, but they do (at least did when I wrote the post last week) have a lot of different sizes to fit a lot of different sized women.
No, you didn't say it was a plus size store. Your post was filed under "plus size" so I assumed that you were aiming it at people looking for plus size clothing. My mistake.
SO how do you keep the slip under the dress from roling up on you? And FYI, jsnzmom: just because you're skinny doesn't mean you aren't flabby! Size 2's can have muffin tops too!
Sorry for the confusion over this dress. The site however does have plus sizes available...up to 4x. At the end of the year, and season, lots of sizes sell out. This is the dress that caught my eye and they originally had more sizes...but there are lots of others in full range of sizes.

I JUST WANT A CHOCOLATE SLIMFAST AND I WILL GET ME ONE TOMORROW!!!
Well, I am 35yo 5' 170# and really appreciated this post, I bookmarked the website and printed the dress (which I love too) and will use it as a reward for myself when I get to 150# (which I haven't seen since my 2nd child was born)...or whatever dress they have in my size when I reach my goal.
