The vivacious Jenn "Tattoochick" Herrera is so full of life and the love of it -- and it shows in her beautiful work. When it comes to art, Jenn says she "got it from her mama" and it's clear how important family is to her. The first tattoo she ever did was on her husband and she's tattooed her entire arm herself. This mom of three has a vast talent when it comes to tattooing.

Jenn is owner and tattoo artist at Chaotic Ink in La Puente, California. We are obsessed with the vintage Barbie tattoo she created, but as you can see, there is something special for everyone.

How did you get into tattooing?
I never pictured myself doing this as a career, but I did expect to do something related to art. Being in real estate full-time, I started by getting offered to do a few cover-ups on my then boyfriend, now husband. He knew I always had that artistic touch, being [that] I painted and drew in my spare time. So it began there, in our first apartment. An experiment gone completely successful.

What was the first tattoo that you got?
My first meaningful tattoo was a pair of dice on my wrist. Meaning you always got to take that chance, whether it's with love, friendships, or opportunities.

Share a good story about a tattoo that you have done.
It's so hard to single one out, being [that] I've done thousands of meaningful ones. But one that stands out is a lovely lady who, to date, is filling her entire arm with things that represent her beloved deceased mother. From candy to ice cream to everything she loved to do. A mother's love is irreplaceable.

Have you ever tattooed yourself?
I actually did my whole arm. Being an artist, only I know how I want it done, so I just did it myself. Painful, yes, but I'm completely satisfied.

Who and what influences you in work/life?
My children -- all three of them -- motivate me, too. It hasn't been easy, but their dad and I bust our butts to give them the life we never had. Everything I do, I do for them. I'm sure they see me tired, but they also see me motivated to always do better. And if there's anything I want to pass to them, [it] is that I hope they never settle for less. If they want something, they need to work for it.

Do what you love and love what you do.
