Halloween is one of our favorite times of the year, but sadly, it's only one day out of 365. But true fans of the holiday know that keeping that spooky spirit alive the rest of the year means a certain level of commitment. Which makes horror movie–themed tattoos perfect for those into frights, fears, and boo scares.

Some are literal replications, others take a little artistic liberty, but all are creative with a side of creepy in the coolest way possible. From skeleton bones to green skinned creepers to a bit of blood and gore, check out these scary good horror movie tattoos.

Classic in Technicolor

This is seriously beautiful imagery of some of the classics by tattoo artist Jennifer Trok. These beloved characters are among the finest in horror and they are brilliantly boasted on a half sleeve.

Adorably nestled in an ornate frame, Jack and Sally show their love for one another in a tattoo perfect for Nightmare Before Christmas fans.

Tattoo artist Alex Martinez did an incredible job on this one, capturing the spooky yet sweet bond between these two.

Bride of Frankenstein

Even monsters need love, and so the Bride of Frankenstein was created -- and what a masterpiece she was. We love this tattoo artfully designed by Brie Brutal.

Ultimate Nosferatu

The allure of the vampire is as everlasting as the creature itself. And movie buffs know that before there was Edward Cullen, there was Nosferatu, that neck-sucking undead feeding on the ladies.

We love Brie Brutal's version of this classic in a bleeding heart.

Frankenstein's Monster

When the doctor patches together his creation, we learn all about that green monster Frankenstein, in the book first penned by Mary Shelley and adapted for the silver screen by none other than Thomas Edison.

We love this further immortalization in ink by Brie Brutal.

Freddy, Jason, Michael -- they may sound like the name of the boy next door, but these guys are the ones we fear. We love this collection of some of horror's most frightful by tattoo artist Chris Sinclair.

Victor and Emily, the Corpse Bride, together or apart make an incredible tattoo. We love the moody darkness of this one by Soular Tattoo.

Night of the Living Dead

We love zombies. Not in real life, of course. But for the screen ... amazing. This tattoo from Night of the Living Dead is perfection.

Captain Spaulding

Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects gave us the fright of Captain Spaulding. A clown. A chill-inducing insane clown! He makes a bold tattoo.

Halloween Folklore

When we delve into the meanings behind Halloween folklore, it makes things even more terrifying. That's what the movie Trick 'r Treat does and this pumpkin head sure delivers a fright.

13/20

Commanding Krueger

The movie A Nightmare on Elm Street continues to haunt us thanks to the evil Freddy Krueger. Fans will love this version of the stalker.

14/20

Don't Mess with Jigsaw

This tattoo really seems to radiate fear, perhaps thanks to the psychological aspect of the movie Saw, which made the character Jigsaw a face you never want to see but you can't stop being freaked out over once you do.

'80s Fear Forever

Cult classic Creepshow is some of Stephen King's best (but they are all, really). We love how not only the skeleton gets his chance here, but the logo for the show as well.

The Shining Twins

This tattoo is an absolutely brilliant design paying homage to The Shining. Somehow the faceless Grady twins maintain their sweetness.

Forever Michael

Michael Myers terrifies, but as a tattoo, he's really neat -- especially with that dagger through his head. We love the added roses, making it almost like a sweet portrait.

Double D and His Kill

Daryl Dixon, one of our favorite characters with a crossbow (or not), is immortalized in skin. Along with, of course, a walker with an arrow through his head. The Walking Dead fans will love this one.

The Terror of Lucille

As if Negan wasn't a bad enough guy in The Walking Dead, he has his sidekick Lucille -- the bat that has been terrifying us since we first laid eyes on her.
