Everything You Need to Know to Get the Most Glam Grammy Awards Beauty Looks (PHOTOS)

Kelly Bryant | Feb 16, 2016 Beauty & Style

The Grammys are an interesting awards show in that the cast of characters walking the red carpet is very different from the usual suspects walking the line throughout awards season. These are the people of rock 'n' roll ilk, and with that, you see a different side of glamour that's sometimes a little more over the top.

Take Lady Gaga, for example, who walked the red carpet with flaming red strands. You probably won't see her sporting this look at, say, the Oscars.

We rounded up some of our favorite beauty looks from the night along with tips on how to achieve the styles from music's biggest night. From Anna Kendrick's bold eyes to Kacey Musgraves's incredible lavender lip, let us know if our faves match up with yours.

As the kids like to say, Zendaya slays when it comes to her personal style. The actress-singer made a bold choice by sporting a mullet to the Grammys. As if that wasn't shocking enough -- she also did her own makeup, which is basically unheard of in Hollywood. We really loved her neutral lip and were thrilled to learn the shades she used are all super affordable because they come from Cover Girl. "No look of mine is ever complete without a touch of color on the lips -- tonight I used Colorlicious Oh Sugar! In Caramel," she says of her look. "I love that these lip balms help to keep the lips hydrated while still providing a light wash of color. For a final touch, I added a swipe of Jumbo Gloss Balm Creams in Caramel Cream, topped with a dab of Queen Collection Colorlicious Gloss in Premier Pink to complete the look."

  • Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick can thank makeup artist Vanessa Scali for her gorgeous smoky cat eye, which was the focus of her look for the evening.A full coating of Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Smoky Eyes Pencil in Smoky Black defined at the inside corner, across the lash line, and blended out with a Bardot flick at the outer corners emphasizes and elongates this cat-eye," says Vanessa. "A generous coat of Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara in Stunning Black on the top, and a touch on the bottom, gave her eyes an extra flirty and bold feeling."

  • Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen is one hot mama-to-be, but she can also give a little credit for her glowy skin to the impeccable prep work done by her makeup artist Mary Phillips. She used Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque on Chrissy's skin the day of the show, even though that's a risk the renowned artist usually wouldn't take. "Typically I wouldn’t do a mask like this the day of, but when I tested it out myself, I was super impressed, I liked all the 'stages' it goes through -- super thick, gentle and cooling, then it really heats up in a warm way that draws blood to the surface for an added glow, and when you take it off, it acts as a gentle exfoliator. I didn’t put it all over, just on the forehead, nose, cheeks and chin." Mary then used Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate, Ultra Facial Cream, Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, and Lip Balm #1 before moving on to adding color cosmetics to Chrissy's face.

  • Bella Hadid

Bella Hadid may have been at the Grammys to support her boyfriend The Weeknd, but her sleek strands stole the show. Mark Townsend created the sexy style for Bella using Dove Regenerative Nourishment Serum-In-Oil on damp hair to smooth it out before styling. After blow drying, he used a ghd Platinum Flat Iron to completely straighten the hair before applying Oribe Rock Hard Gel to lock in that sleek texture.

We are obsessed with the way Kacey Musgraves's lavender lip perfectly complemented her Armani gown. Makeup artist Carlene K used Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Baci to score the perfect shade.

  • Alessandra Ambrosio

Beauty lovers couldn't stop talking about Alessandra Ambrosio's teal smoky eye, which was a total red carpet standout. Makeup artist Beau Nelson used a combo of products from Colour Pop Cosmetics, Tom Ford, Charlotte Tilbury, MAC, and L'Oreal to craft the look. We love Colour Pop's deeply pigmented pearlized shadow in Coconut for recreating the eye-popping color.

  • Lianne La Havas

Lianne La Havas needed a makeup look that could last all day as she presented awards during the untelevised portion of the Grammys. Her pretty eye look comes courtesy of makeup artist Dusty Starks, who used Charlotte Tilbury's The Luxury Palette in Golden Goddess on Lianne's lids, then lined the eyes with NARS Larger Than Life Long Wear Eyeliner in Via De'Martelli. For drama, she applied her own Dusty Mink Lashes in Fancy, then finished off the look with Kevyn Aucoin The Volume Mascara in Black.

  • Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood was all elegance at the Grammy Awards, but still opted for her signature smoky eye. Melissa Schleicher used Almay Intense i-Color Party Brights Eyeshadow for Hazel Eyes, starting with the lightest shade across the entire lid up to the brow bone. Next, she brushed the dark brown shade across the lid, focusing on the crease to add dimension, and mixed in the turquoise shadow to add a hint of color to complement Carrie’s hazel eyes. To create a smoky finish, Almay Intense i-Color Gel Smooth Liner in Espresso was smudged across the lower lash line and used to draw a bold line across the upper lashes. The upper lash line was then set with Almay Liquid Liner in Brown for extra definition. To complete the look, New York by Smoke and Mirrors Beauty were used on the upper lashes and finished with two coats of Almay One Coat Multi-Benefit Mascara in Blackest Black.
