Heidi Klum's Eyebrow-Raising Emmys Dress Inspires a Slew of Silly Reactions (PHOTOS)

As Heidi Klum reminds us each season on Project Runway, in fashion you're either in or you're out. Unfortunately the supermodel and TV host found herself in the latter category when Klum took to the Emmys red carpet in a yellow Versace dress and blew up Twitter!

I'm not really sure what happened -- Heidi is usually on-point when it comes to her style game. But the look just has way too much going on. It's ruffled, it's mesh, it's sheer ... it's giving me a headache. Keep in mind I say this as I sit here in my "uniform" of yoga pants and a tee, which would impress no one, but I'm not on a red carpet (thank heavens!).

The ensemble confused so many that it inspired some pretty hilarious social media activity. I mean, the Big Bird comparisons were inevitable ...

But that's not the only kiddie character the couture gown reminded the masses of.

Meanwhile, there were those who suggested perhaps she's gunning for a spot on another reality competition.

And of course there were the peeps who were calling Heidi out on her Project Runway duties and how she would never this happen on her show ...

And, whoa, whoa, whoa -- we get the Sesame Street comparison, but Heidi is a household name, not a cleaning product ...

Some even thought she may have stolen the frock from a deceased comedienne ...

Others considered this was a Project Runway challenge gone awry ...

But some folks just thought the outfit was missing one important component ...

There was also this one. Ouch!

And this ...

You get the picture. While we love Heidi (and we really, really do), this showgirl number is a misstep. Fortunately, she has plenty of time to redeem herself, because I'm hedging my bets that Project Runway (and Heidi) will be around for many more awards seasons to come.
