Women Are Microwaving Their Armpits & You Gotta See It to Believe It

woman microwave armpitNo one likes to feel sweaty and slimy -- especially if they're on their way to a fancy event. And we get it. Sometimes, deodorant or antiperspirant aren't enough. But what lengths would you go to to stop that icky-feeling trickle and remove those ugly stubby hairs at the same time? Well, some women are now "microwaving" their armpits to stop excessive sweating and even reduce the growth of unsightly hair.

Yikes! Doesn't that hurt, you ask? Well, here's how it works. Local anesthesia is applied to the area to minimize the discomfort. Then a grid is drawn on the armpit with a temporary marker to help guide the treatment. The FDA-approved MiraSmooth technology is different from laser treatments in that it can be used on all skin tones.

But before you picture ladies sticking their arms inside their microwaves, here's what the procedure actually looks like:

That anesthesia must really be working! Check out how calm this woman looks:

Just remember, as tempting as it might be, this is definitely not a DIY procedure.

Now, sure it would be awesome to say goodbye to your razor and deodorant, but call me old-fashioned -- there's just something about this that seems kind of scary, right?

Like what about all the other stuff you're frying while you're scorching those sweat glands and unsuspecting follicles? Let's face it: Armpits are probably never going to be our best feature. I think it's easier to just accept that rather than try to nuke them into submission.
