Lucky for us, beauty brands have come out with an array of products that play to our more cheerful mood. We've rounded up some of our favorite new items -- and included some tried and true oldies that we still love. The forecast is looking bright!

Few beauty brands can rival the whimsical packaging by Paul & Joe Beauté. This spring, they've really outdone themselves with the limited edition Animal Friends of the Menagerie Collection ($39, beautyhabit.com), inspired by "some of the world’s most elegant creatures." This playful palette is stamped with hippopotamuses (accent color), cats (eye color), swans (highlight color) and elephants (cheek and eye color). Wild and almost too pretty to use!

  • Bite Beauty Watercolor Lip Gloss Library

Bite Beauty has created a collection inspired by the "ethereal beauty of a watercolor palette." But don't get scared off by that mint green tube! The 12 soft shades in the Watercolor Lip Gloss Library ($49, sephora.com) provide a sheer wash of color, making them surprisingly easy to wear. And just like in an artist's palette, you can use each color alone or layer for more pigmentation.

  • Too Faced Melted Metal Lipstick

Have you heard? Iridescent is in. And as fans of the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks ($21, sephora.com), we were excited to try the new Melted Metals ($21, sephora.com). They did not disappoint: They go on smoothly, have decent staying power, and offer just the right amount of shine! Our fave color? Jelly, hands down.

When it gets warm out, you don't want to slather too much product on your face. So what's better than something that can multitask? That's why we love Stila's super-soft Dual Lip and Cheek Creams. Their Field of Florals Dual Lip & Cheek Palette ($49, stilacosmetics.com) gathers all of the popular flowery hues into one easy-to-carry case. Toss it into your beach bag or purse for an on-the-go touchup. But be warned: It's limited edition.

Move over special effects nail polish -- special effects lippies are on the rise. Turn some heads with the Lit Cosmetics Summer Sparkle Lit Kit ($20, sephora.com). While originally intended for eyes, all of the Lit Cosmetics glitters are lip-safe.

We especially love how it makes glamming up for a special night ridiculously simple: Just use the clear base on your lips and then pat on the loose glitter with a dry brush. You’ll go from zero to wow in seconds! Pair with an understated cat-eye for a new take on old-school glamour.

  • Sugarpill Heavenly Creatures Nail Lacquers

The playful indie beauty brand Sugarpill Cosmetics took to the International Make Up Artists Trade Show in New York to unveil their new collection of nail polishes: Heavenly Creatures. We love the color Angel Cake ($13, available soon at sugarpillshop.com): A sweet nude shade with flecks of blue and pink glitter. It's a treat for your feet that's perfect for sandal weather or a Mommy-and-Me pedicure.

  • Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams

As much as we love the matte lipstick trend, it leaves our lips a little dry. That's where Nyx's Soft Matte Lip Cream ($6, nyxcosmetics.com). It glides on like a dream, hardens into a lasting matte finish, and doesn't result in chapping. At a mere $6 each, you can afford a whole host of colors -- but the summery coral Antwerp received the most attention when we wore it out.

  • Bio Seaweed Gel Polish

We're gluttons for gel manicures. And while there's nothing better for weeks of chip-free, shiny manis, they do a number on our nails. So when Bio Seaweed Gel claimed that it created a gel product that promises NO weakening effects, we were intrigued. The polish is formulated without formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, BHA, or solvents so it promises to be better for your nails.

We tested it and are happy to say the stay is pretty comparable to regular gels. On week two, we saw little chipping -- even after hand-washing dishes! Plus, their Unity All-In-One Color Gel Polish ($18, bioseaweedgel.bigcartel.com) can be set in the sun. Yep, that's right -- no more sticking your hands under a UV lamp. Check out their new Vintage Garden colors for a shade perfectly suited for spring.
