Christina Hendricks Reveals the 'Mad Men' Look She Loved Most (PHOTOS)

christina hendricksThe end of an era is upon us. Mad Men's final season (the second half of season 7) will premiere on AMC on April 5, and fans are gettin' all sorts of sentimental as a result. We got the chance to reminisce about the period drama's divine sense of style with none other than Christina Hendricks at an event for Clairol Nice 'n Easy -- during which the brand ambassador joked that she's never "had a party for her hair before!" -- in New York.

Christina's new blonde locks have been the buzzworthy item this week, but the past eight years have been filled with a lot of love for her character Joan Holloway's look on the show. Fans count on Mad Men's costume designer Janie Bryant to pull out all the stops for the sole female partner at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. But was there one look in particular over the course of seven seasons that has stood out as a favorite for Christina?

"In 7 [seasons], her hair and makeup has been almost exactly the same, so I'm gonna have to point out the fashion," she told The Stir exclusively. "There was an outfit Joan wore a couple times earlier on that -- it was actually the outfit that Joan Barbie wears. It's a little purple dress with a sash around and a little kick pleat in the back. It's my absolute favorite dress she wore."

Check it out.

No wonder Christina loves it. Stunning and memorable, to boot.

That's the kind of costume you would think she may have nabbed from wardrobe on her way out the door after shooting wrapped, right? Unfortunately, Christina's closet isn't packed with Joan's vintage styles.

"A lot of [the costumes] are actually going to be at a museum," she said. "There's going to be one in D.C., and another in [NYC, the Museum of the Moving Image]. I have a blouse, a dress. Some of them are rented, some of them will go into archives."

It's not too much of a loss for Christina who laughed as she explained, "I can't wear them as my clothes; they would make me look crazy! I have one dress, and it's in the final seven [episodes], and I was like, 'Maybe if I wear it before it airs, no one will notice!'"

Ha! Something tells me Mad Men creator Matt Weiner, who pays attention to all the spoilers out there, might! Guess we'll just have to wait 'til those last seven eps to see Christina rock Joan's final styles. And no matter where they land, they're bound to make history.

Which of Joan's looks over the years do you love the most?
