New App Turns You Into a Fashion Sketch (PHOTO)

If you've ever wondered what you would look like as someone's fashion muse, it's high time you found out. A new app called Chic Sketch is about to become the coolest must-have tool for every lover of fashion and Instagram because it actually takes your photo and turns you into a custom fashion illustration.

Remember when everyone and their grandmother began posting Bitstrips that showed cartoon renditions of themselves expressing their frustrations at life? Chic Sketch is way cuter and far more worthy of your "free time" at work. Yes, you may become obsessed.

Here's how it works: you take a full-length photo of yourself wearing an outfit you love. Then you submit your photo to Chic Sketch and wait -- sometimes a few minutes and sometimes a bit longer -- for a real-life fashion illustrator to sketch you and send your digital illustration back. You can then upload your sketch to Instagram or Facebook, as well as to a live gallery feed on the site, where you can check out others' amazing fashion sketches.

The app itself is free to purchase, but each illustration will cost $9.99 and you can pay an extra fee of $4.99 if you want your design expedited. For another additional cost, you can become a priority member and pretty much get to jump to the front of the line for your sketch.

The opportunity to be sketched by a real artist is rare and the obvious draw here. When one of Chic Sketch's fashion illustrators offered to show me an example, I raced to find a full-length photo of myself wearing a cool outfit. The only thing I came up with was this wedding photo -- hoping my dad doesn't mind he didn't get the royal treatment this time around:

Pretty impressive!

If this isn't cool enough, Chic Sketch has future plans to allow its users to print their illustrations on items like stationary. The app will be available for iOS or Android by the end of the week.

What do you think? Would you use Chic Sketch?
