Golden Globes 2015: 10 Best & Worst Looks of the Night (PHOTOS)

Maressa Brown | Jan 11, 2015 Beauty & Style

tina fey at golden globes 2015Deja vu! Dynamic duo Tina Fey and Amy Poheler returned to host the 72nd Golden Globes at the Beverly Hilton tonight, and brought plenty of the stars out with 'em! Taking to the red carpet in gowns that ranged from classic black (Amal Clooney and Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez, we're looking at you!) to bold crimson, ethereal white, and heavy gunmetal hues, the celebs in attendance certainly gave us an eyeful of dazzling couture.

That said, for every look that hit it out of the park, there was one that was a total miss! We rounded up 5 of our favorites, and 5 of the most frightening looks of the evening.

Check them out, then tell us: Which did you love the most? How about hate?

  • Best: Amy Adams

Can Amy Adams do any wrong? The star, who won Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for her role in Big Eyes, looked flawless as usual in a one-shoulder, periwinkle Versace gown that channeled old Hollywood glamour.

  • Worst: Emma Stone

    Image via Jason Merritt/Getty

Nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for Birdman, Emma Stone took a time-out from her run in Broadway's Cabaret to jet off to the west coast and walk the red carpet in a Lanvin jumpsuit with a crystal top that's basically perfection ... with the exception of the train and gigundo gift-wrappy BOW in the back. Ugh -- ruined it!

  • Best: Reese Witherspoon

Nominated for Best Actress in a drama for her leading role in Wild, Reese looked stunning in a '70s-ish silver lame strapless number by Calvin Klein.

  • Worst: Tina Fey

The good news: Tina Fey is co-hosting the Golden Globes once again with her partner in comedy crime and BFF Amy Poehler. The bad news: Her first look of the night was ... this. This custom Antonio Berardi looks like an oversized maid's costume for Halloween. Tina, no, just no ...

  • Best: Anna Kendrick

Into the Woods star Anna Kendrick stepped out in this breathtaking Monique Lhuillier confection that, fittingly, seems suited for a princess.

  • Worst: Melissa McCarthy

Melissa took a chance with this custom design, which she described to E! as made from two other existing pieces she had in her closet, but it ended up looking like a cast-off from the wardrobe of the 1980 movie 9 to 5. And not in a good way.

  • Best: Jenna Dewan-Tatum

    Image via Jason Merritt/Getty

Jenna Dewan-Tatum's buttery yellow Carolina Herrera was not only on-trend (and similar to Camila Alves' look) but romantic, elegant, and modern. Her date -- Foxcatcher star hubby Channing Tatum -- wasn't lookin' too shabby either!

  • Worst: Lena Dunham

Lena deserves ALL the props for being nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series -- Comedy or Musical for Girls, but her red high-low Zac Posen gets a big thumb-down.

  • Best: Dakota Johnson

The Fifty Shades of Grey leading lady nailed red carpet glam and doing her best Anastasia Steele in this sparkly Chanel gown we're pretty sure Christian would approve of.

  • Worst: Keira Knightley

WHAT was the mom-to-be and nominee for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama -- not to mention, at least one of the 33 people she said helped her make the Chanel dress -- thinking with this?! The Imitation Game star's horrible fluttery number looks like it was made from grandma's drapes! And the matching butterfly clutch, which I guess could have been seen as whimsical, but because the dress is so heinous, it just adds to the insanity of the look.
