Teen Choice Awards 2014: 10 Best & Worst Looks of the Night (PHOTOS)

shailene woodley accepting award teen choice awards 2014The stars were out last night for the 2014 Teen Choice Awards, and you know what that means! It was a parade of colorful couture. The fun-loving awards show is known for being laidback and summery, so it's not exactly a parade of Oscars-caliber Gucci and Wu. Still, the celebs in attendance always dress to impress. At least, they attempt to!

Here, 5 who knocked it out of the park and 5 who suffered at the wrath of a fashion faux pas.

What looks did you love and which could you have done without?

  • Best: Kim Kardashian

Another one fashionistas are either loving or hating, but I'll give Kim props for this curve-hugging, zebra-print look. The leather top and animal print skirt are both by Balmain, while the divine cream pumps are everything -- oh, and also by Balenciaga.

  • Worst: Victoria Justice

Although the Teen Choice Awards is known for having a beachy vibe, actually wearing something that looks like a pool coverup? Not the best idea. This crocheted number by Rebecca Minkoff does nothing to flatter the Nickelodeon star's figure and thus ends up looking straight-up sloppy.

  • Best: Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez looked beyond sophisticated in this black Saint Laurent pantsuit and gold pumps (the perfect hint of '80s flair!). Definitely unusual for the TCAs and out of character for the singer, who more typically opts for feminine, flouncy numbers, but maybe that's why it looks extra-glam.

  • Worst: Chloe Moretz

Make no mistake, the If I Stay actress still looks like a total doll. But this Valentino Resort 2015 ensemble reminds us of Michael Jackson ... in a bad, overly busy way.

  • Best: Shailene Woodley

The Fault in Our Stars may have picked up a slew of awards last night, but its leading lady got mixed reviews for her "confusing," mixed patterned Peter Pilotto dress. But to us, the eclectic look and asymmetrical slit are all sorts of interesting, unique, and so Shailene! Love.

  • Worst: Hailee Steinfeld

Looks like Little House on the Prairie called, and they want their costume back. The Begin Again actress took a chance with this mixed prints and fabrics look, but it ultimately shook out to look like a big ol' frumpfest.

  • Best: Nina Dobrev

The Vampire Diaries star struck exactly the right chord of the evening with this sunset-pink, gold, and lavender Vionnet top and shorts combo. Paired with that romantic Rapunzel-ish braid, the whole look was picture perfect.

  • Worst: Hilary Duff

There's no denying the singer/actress/mom to 2-year-old Luca looks super-fit, but something about her ill-fitting, '90s-esque Sachin & Babi crop top and vintage leather pencil skirt looks downright uncomfortable.

  • Worst: Bella Thorne

Critics either loved or loathed the Disney star's futuristic custom Candie's dress, created by stylist Johnny Wujek. While the color is absolutely stunning, the cut -- especially the awkward neckline -- made it seem like an early Lady Gaga costume.

  • Best: Lucy Hale

The petite Pretty Little Liars star stood out on the blue carpet in this sexy, sweet, and scarlet mini-dress with a bubble skirt by Christian Dior. Could the red hot look have been a nod to all those fans who wanted her to play Anastasia Steele? Okay, probably not, but the style still sizzled!
