I have news for you: You're washing your face wrong. That's right, something you've been doing since junior high; something so simple as rubbing some cleanser on your face and rinsing it off -- you're not doing it right. How do I know? Gwyneth Paltrow told me. In a round about way.
The Queen of Everything revealed some of her beauty tricks recently, and among them? How she washes her face. Think what you want of Gwynnie, but when she talks face washing, I'm listening.
When asked about her skin routine by People, Paltrow said, " I used to just wash my face with a wash cloth and water. But now I’m 41, so I need to be a girl and deal with products and put them on and stuff. I still think a hot wash cloth is a really good exfoliator, and I still use it. But I put a cleanser on first. Exfoliation is super important. A hot wash cloth and good scrub."
Am I the only person who's never exfoliated with a wash cloth before? I know whenever I've gotten facials, they press a hot wash cloth on my skin before removing the product, but I don't think I've ever been introduced to, nevertheless tried, exfoliating with a wash cloth. What's the deal?
I did some Googling and found a video on YouTube that demonstrates exactly what Paltrow's talking about. And I've gotta say, it's pretty genius. Not only does it seem like a great, gentle way to exfoliate the delicate skin on your face, talk about cheap! No need to buy scrubs and creams; simply slough away dead skin with a reusable wash cloth. Definitely trying this tonight. And here's the video if you're interested. (What a great idea!)
Have you ever done this?
