5 Amazing Drugstore Beauty Products That Really, Really Work

drugstore beautyBy no means am I rich, but when it comes to beauty products, I don't mess around. I've tried a million and one drugstore products, and, for me at least, the pricier stuff just works better. When I want makeup or face washes or hair serums, I typically head to Sephora, Amazon, or department stores, because I'm not one of you lucky women who can thrown any old thing on my face and not have it break out or dry up. Also, fancy packages are pretty.

But! There are a few exceptions when it comes to drugstore items; things that really, truly, actually work -- even on the most sensitive-skinned/haired folk. (And I'm not just talking about the classic "Great Lash mascara" answer here.)

After years and years of testing, here are the 5 best drugstore beauty items, as told by a beauty junkie.

What's your favorite drug store beauty product?

Purpose Gentle Cleansing wash. Best face cleanser for oily skin! And CeraVe for dry or combination skin! Purpose is under $8 and CeraVe runs about $13 and both work better than any expensive brand I've tried. I must admit I spend $100s on my moisturizer and other serums (love Skinceuticals) but for my face wash it's all about the drugstore brands.  But honestly, for me it's about what works, not the brand name or the price. I've spent years experimenting with different products for my problem skin. Love my Clarisonic Mia!!! Makeup, I use Laura Mercier(foundation and concealer), MAC(eyeshadow and lipstick) and then the Covergirl mascara. My body wash costs $3 and I use Gold Bond lotion and my skin has never been softer. Go with what works.
