7 Beautiful Fashion Week Looks Moms Can Easily Do Themselves (PHOTOS)

Another Fashion Week is at an end in New York City, leaving us with tons of photos to drool over and feel depressed about because we can't afford ... hey! Wait a minute! That's crazy talk. Yes, more designer clothing is not for the mere mortal like me, but that doesn't mean we can't take inspiration from the fabulous trends and looks on the runways. Here are some of my favorites from this season that anyone can totally pull off!

  • Boho elegance at Mara Hoffman

Mara Hoffman's entire collection was to-die-for (as usual); this long pleated skirt with an eclectic top is something that's totally pull-offable. Note the super chic cuffs on the upper and lower arms.

  • Plum and Pewter nails at Nanette Lepore

Michelle Saunders for essie created a half dark pewter, half deep plum nail design Nanette Lepore's scrumptious, rich collection. Saunders used one coat of "berry naughty" over "chinchilly" to create the deep purple color on 2/3 of the nail, and then filled in the rest of the nail with "over the edge". I love it!

Essie "chinchilly", "berry naughty" and "over the edge."

  • Gorgeous bronze lips at Rodarte

NARS created this beautiful look for the Rodarte show. It's all gorgeous, but the standout for me is that amazing bronze lipstick. They used Deborah Audacious Lipstick, which doesn't come out until Fall... a good sub for now is  Pigalle Semi Matte Lipstick, plus a top coat of Rouge Tribal Larger Than Life® Lip Gloss.

  • Fur collar at BCBGMAXAZRIA

I'm talking FAUX fur of course, but to each her own! Either way, a luxurious fur stole/collar really take any looks to a new level of chic. Check places like TJ Maxx and Century 21 to find good deals, or keep your eyes out for sales right now. It's still freezing in most of the country, but stores have to make way for spring merchandise!

  • Sequin pants at J. Crew

How fabulous to wear a pair of sequin pants! Absolutely love this. What a great alternative to a dress for a special night out. I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for something like this that I can afford!

  • Stila's dramatic cat eyes at Alice and Olivia

Now that's some drama! I don't think I'd do the super dark lips AND the cat eyes at once, but maybe! I adore that glam eye, though.

  • Ted Gibson's " Twist and Shout" updo at Lela Rose

Lela Rose always create the most gorgeous, ladylike but adventurous clothes, and Ted Gibson created the PERFECT hair to go along with the Fall '14 collection. To try the look at home, check out Mia Beauty's EZ-Twist tool & bobby pins with clear rhinestones.
