First Lady Michelle Obama turns 50 this year, and so of course that means we have to start asking the Harvard-trained lawyer and hospital executive about her big, important plans for ... plastic surgery. Ah, gotta love it.
Whether or not she should've been asked about her thoughts on Botox in the first place, the FLOTUS's surprising response to People magazine's question was actually pretty right on ...
"Women should have the freedom to do whatever they need to do to feel good about themselves. Right now, I don’t imagine that I would go that route, but I’ve also learned to never say never,” she said. Right on, Michelle!
Not that I'm at all about Botox or any sort of plastic surgery as a first resort. But it comes back to exactly what Michelle is saying ... If a few lines that could be easily injected away are holding you back from feeling like your best self, by all means, go for it! We shouldn't be so quick to judge anyone for doing something that is going to truly bolster their confidence.
We also have to applaud the FLOTUS for being so honest. To admit that while cosmetic procedures aren't for her today, that's not to say that she may not want to experiment with them down the road. "Never say never" is a pretty wise way of looking at anything to do with switching up your beauty regimen. Because, who knows, some day you may decide you want to experiment with bright red lipstick or chop your hair into a pixie cut, rock some bangs, or get a lil' Botox. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
What do you think about Michelle Obama's take on Botox? How do you feel about getting it down the road?
