Miranda Kerr & Rihanna Top Vogue's Surprising 2013 Best-Dressed List (PHOTOS)

Rihanna instagramNot to be outdone by all the year-in-review action, Vogue has released its Best Dressed Women of 2013 list! Thankfully, there's no mention of Miley ... but there are a handful of names who are anything but mainstream, like supposed "It" model Cara Delevinge (who was also rumored to be up for a role in Fifty Shades at one point) and French actress Lea Seydoux, who starred in an indie this year called Blue Is the Warmest Color. Stella McCartney got a shout-out for dressing herself as well as she clothes her celeb clientele.

But the list also paid tribute to several women you're sure to recognize, like Kerry Washington (j'adore!), Cate Blanchett, Miranda Kerr, Rihanna, and Lily Collins (who was fab in Stuck in Love and who you may also recognize from Mirror, Mirror or 90210). Here, our most-loved looks of the year from our 5 fave best-dressed women ...

Who do you think should've made the list?

Kerry's so well-dressed that it is almost impossible to point at one stand-out style she wore this year, but this fairytale confection she wore to the 2013 Primetime Emmys is my personal fave. Nominated for best actress in a drama, she floored everyone in this Marchesa gown from the fashion house's Spring 2014 collection. One word: Flawless.

Sure, she made headlines for her divorce from Orlando Bloom this year, but Miranda Kerr also deserves a nod for her impeccable style. As Vogue put it, "Take a look at Miranda Kerr in five-inch stilettos, perfectly coiffed hair, with little Flynn perched on her Isabel Marant–clad hip. Street-style Barbie in the absolute best way, the Aussie model makes even a mundane outing look like the most glamorous milk run in history." Pretty much. My fave of the year: The plunging, Deco-inspired Valentino Couture gown she wore to Vanity Fair's Oscar party in February.

The high-fashion world must love RiRi for all the style risks she takes, but she also proves she can knock it out of the park in a romantic gown when necessary. Case in point: This lacey, sheer two-piece she wore to the AMAs last month that won her rave reviews as she picked up the first ever Icon Award.

  • Cate Blanchett

Cate Blanchett attended the premiere of her film Blue Jasmine in this spidery, flapper style from Christopher Kane and proved once again that she is a force to be reckoned with not only on the big screen but on the red carpet.

  • Lily Collins

The petite English actress who Vogue calls "this year’s ingénue-on-the-rise" wowed at the Canadian premiere of The Mortal Instruments this summer in lace, long-sleeved Houghton gown.
