Well, it's technically not Christmas yet, but that isn't stopping the royal family from going all out and celebrating! Kate Middleton, Prince William, little Prince George, Prince Charles and Camila, and Princess Beatrice, among others, were invited to Buckingham Palace today for the Queen's annual pre-Christmas lunch. Judging from the rain-spotted first photos taken of the Duke and Duchess arriving in their black Range Rover (not the new Bentley today!), it was quite dreary in London. But Kate kept things merry and bright in a festive, red coat, which yup, she's worn before!
Nope, it wasn't the L.K. Bennett one she wore on Poppy Day last month, or her scarlet Marianne coat-dress by Catherine Walker, which she wore on her final stop in Canada, but another beloved red coat -- by Armani, according to Grazia.
The magazine points out that Kate first wore the coat back well before the royal wedding -- in 2006 to William's passing out parade at Sandhurst. And she was last spotted in the coat earlier this year on the second day of her Scotland tour, paired with knee-high, black boots and a yellow tartan scarf (as above). Lovely!

But wow, a 7-year-old coat?! And I thought it was crazy that I was scrounging around for one I haven't worn since college 9 years ago. Huh, Kate really is just like us! Then again, they're not like shirts, dresses, or even shoes. A few really well-made, warm, stylish coats go a long way, so no one needs all that many! Still, if Kate wanted to -- she could ... So it's always refreshing to see her re-wear any garment or accessory.
Speaking of, she was also sporting her Catherine Zoraida double leaf gold earrings today, which she's worn on many occasions. Perfect! Now if only we could find out if what she had under the coat was recycled as well ... Considering how much re-wearing she's been doing lately, my bet's on yes!
Which recycled style of Kate's is your fave?
