You don't have to dress up for the New Year's Eve in order to feel like celebrating. Sometimes a little bit of makeup goes a long way -- and there is nothing like glitter, shimmer, or a touch of metallic to make it feel like a party. And it doesn't matter if the party is just you and the kids, the whole family, or a friend or work function.
For glittery lips (perfect to make your mark at midnight):
mark Shimmer Glossblossom Ripening Lip Tint ($6) goes on clear, then adds a pink shimmery glow to your lips with a berry scent.
LA Colors Glitter Lipgloss ($2) is a glittery gloss that comes in copper, silver, gold, rosy pink, and more. Wear alone or over your regular lipstick.

For a body and cheek glow:
Jergens Soft Shimmer Skin Radiance Moisturizer ($5.12 from Drugstore.com) gives an all-over glow without that fake tan feel.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Paper Me Pretty ($4 from Walmart stores only -- not available online) delivers a great bronzer on easy-to-apply sheets. Apply to cheeks, swipe under brow, or even on your chest for a little shimmer in an unexpected spot.
DIY Tip: Sprinkle a little fine-grained glitter from your child's craft box into your regular body lotion for a little pop of sparkle.
To make your eyes pop:
Almay Bright Eyes Liner/Highlighter Duo Pencil ($8.49 from Drugstore.com) will give your eyes a subtle radiance. Line with dark color and highlight brow bone and corners of eye lighter color.
Pop Beauty Glitter Stix ($8) is a glitter eyeliner for above and below your lash line and it stays on for hours! I have this in Moss and Navy and love them!
CoverGirl Eye Enhancers in Golden Sunrise ($3.12 from Drugstore.com) looks great all over lids and even under your lower lashes for an ethereal look.
Rimmel Lash Bling Mascara ($7.99 from Drugstore.com) in Gold Digger can be applied alone or on top of your regular mascara for a little pop.
For sparkly nails:
Sephora Nail Polish ($4) in color #23 (iridescent golden peach-pink) and #18 (iridescent pink-gold) are 1.7 ounce bottles of long-wearing color.
DIY Tip: Just like with body lotion, you can sprinkle a little glitter from your child's craft box into your regular nail polish for sparkly, holiday nails.
