Just when I was ready to write off Miley Cyrus as so boring/over/predictable she has to go and do something I actually kind of love. She went and got herself a tattoo, which is nothing new. Doesn't she get one like every-other week? I mean, normally I wouldn't care. But you have to see this one. Kat von D did the honors of laying on the ink, and surprise, surprise: Miley's new tattoo is a woman's face -- someone very close to her.
When Miley first tweeted the photo of her new tat she wrote, "Because I am her favorite & she is mine." Some speculate that it's Miley's godmother, Dolly Parton. That would rock on anyone, actually. But while she wouldn't give out any official details, Miley hinted to a fan who it might actually be.
Reportedly, Miley said it's her "Mammie" -- which sounds like her grandmother. Later Kat posted a closeup of the tattoo and wrote, "Grandmas rule." Yes they do! I love the old-fashioned look of the tattoo. Kat must have used an old photo. And I love that the portrait is smiling so indulgently, like she's amused by Miley's antics. Would she really be, I wonder?
I wonder if her grandmother is even still alive?
At any rate, it's a truly sweet tribute. And if Miley really is her favorite, I think she'd approve. Everyone needs someone in their life who doesn't just love them unconditionally, but loves them the best.
If you were to tattoo anyone's face on your body, whose would it be?
