In case you didn't hear, a little prince by the name of George was christened yesterday, and all the cools were invited. There were Georgie's parents -- a lady named Kathy and a man named Bill. There were the godparents -- seven of 'em, all with really long and fancy-sounding names. And then there was a girl named Pippa. Pippa is the sister of this Kathy lady, and although we're not typically all that concerned with what Pippa's up to or how she's dressed, we'd be remiss if we didn't have a brief tete-a-tete about what she wore to her nephew's christening. Because she looked stunning. And she almost outdid her sister -- again.
It seemed like cream and blue was the color scheme of the event on Wednesday. All the ladies, from Queen Elizabeth to George's godmothers, showed up in shades of ivory, cream, and blue. P. Diddy couldn't have planned it better himself.
But Pippa really stood out in the crowd. Actually, her attire looked somewhat similar to the Duchess' cream-colored suit, and there's no way that was an accident, because come on, what sisters don't confer with each other about what they're going to wear to an event (that's highly publicized)? Anyway. Kate's younger sister wore a cream-colored, wool trapeze coat with a lace "warm, blush oyster" hued shift dress with a high neckline underneath. Her shoes were cream pumps by Emmy, and she held a clutch with a bunny clasp by Wilbur & Gussie. She completed her quintessential British look with a beaded fascinator by Edwina Ibbotson.
So. Did Pippa outdo Kate at the royal christening? No. Come on now, that's just crazy talk. But she did come pretty damn close, and that's no easy feat. Cheerio!
Did you like Pippa's look better than Kate's?
